Your local in the heart of the city. Tucked away just off Princes Street in amongst the boutiques of Rose Street you’ll find a modern Scottish bar with food and drinks that have been intimately created and served with pride.

Our food is of traditional Scottish heart with plenty of modern twists.

Come down and try our brand new brunch menu, available Saturday and Sunday 10am-12pm

Every month we give a craft Scottish distillery their time to shine with our In Gin Cocktail Menu.

Beautifully adorned, cozy, and charming restaurant on Rose’s Street. We went with our daughter and the vibe was elegant but comfortable and family friendly. Excellent steak pie. We’ll be back!

We were so impressed with our meal, having been just for drinks before. The atmosphere was great, the waitress was so lovely and helpful and friendly and we had a really good evening. The food was absolutely exceptional. They could charge more for the quality (we're obviously not complaining they don't though!) The quality of the ingredients was clear and all three of us loved our meals (cullen skink risotto, fish and chips and balmoral chicken). Highly recommend and we'd definitely go back. Book ahead, though, as the dining area is small and (deservedly) popular.

Made a last minute booking on recommendation of another nearby establishment as they were too busy. Nice ambience in the restaurant area however the bar was more crowded and service less good albeit they did seem to be short staffed. My partner and her sister both ordered the fish and chips. Both received good sized portions with fish well cooked in a light and crispy batter. Chips were hand made and again nicely cooked. I had the Cullen Skink Risotto which was very tasty albeit the portion not as big as my fellow diners. We finished the meal off with a round of cocktails

The steak and ale pie was outstanding. Good beers and a great bartender who was super helpful and recommended some other places to check out. Great experience

This is the second time at element with my friend and I love the relaxed atmosphere, no pressure and good food at reasonable prices. I will definitely be back.

My Scottish-American husband loved the fish and chips and even let me taste - amazing! My Chicken Balmoral was absolutely incredible(chicken stuffed with a lively fluffy haggis and wrapped in bacon with super fresh snap peas and herbed mashed potatoes I could not help but finish!) my parents loved their meat pies ( not beef, but pork on this night) The only problem was the live music - too loud and he sounded the same on every song - angsty and too much singing vs just guitar. I was actually happy to hear the guitar when we first entered but then…that voice😬. Distracting and not pleasant. Hard to converse. Our reservation was messed up and they sat us in the bar. To their credit, they did move us to the dining room, but not much sound barrier. Servers were very nice and did a good job.
