Took my mom for Mother’s Day. We had 12:30 reservations but we didn’t get seated until 1:40. They had stopped putting brunch food out so we paid for brunch but nothing was available and they refused to put anything else out. Very disappointing.

Reservations are pointless if the time means nothing. I made reservations for my daughter and I on Mother's Day for brunch buffet. I left after waiting 45 minutes. My table was ready an hour past my reservation time. Utterly ridiculous. I would barely even have time to eat at their Sunday brunch which was my whole point in going. Terrible customer service. It was hot and chaotic in there anyways. Super disappointed considering I was looking forward to it for weeks and it was supposed to be a treat. Boooo El Torito, boooo!!!

I know it was Mother’s Day so I expected it to be busy but I had a 12pm reservation and was told they were running a half hour late. Ok I accepted that but then when it came time to seat us they tried to put us outside in rented tables and chairs. We were finally able to get a table inside but had to split our party or we would have to wait over an hour longer. The buffet was supposed to be until 2pm. We finally sat down around 12:30 by 12:45 they were running out of items. They were very short staffed. I felt bad for the servers who were working. We had a great server and she really took care of us I believe it was poor planning on management. Too many reservations were taken and not enough food was ordered. Management should plan better for holiday crowds like this.

We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and was immediately told they are running behind on reservations which is understandable being Mother's day. I asked about how long are they behind and was told 10 to 15 minutes past your reservation time. At the 15 minute mark past my reservation time I went to check with host and I was told there was only a few more people ahead of me. We weren't seated until 1 hour past our reservation time which wouldn't of been an issue if they were upfront about it. The food was great from what I was able to have because they kept running out of food because they say people in waves instead of staggered so naturally food ran out and there would be 15 minutes before it was refilled. We aren't even able to have the premium food offered for mother's day. The food was great but it just seed understaffed and they tried to pack to many people for what they could support because the staff was having a hard time keeping up.

El Tortio's brunch was a great experience. They servers kept our glasses full with the bottomless mimosa even though they were busy and it was Mother's Day. We will definitely be back. It would be awesome if they had the bruch on Saturdays also.
