The moment I walked in I was greeted with such an aggressive attitude as if they did not even welcome us. Then the hostess tried to sit us down next to bunch of people. Told her I want to sit on another table she was not happy with it. Ordered 90 dollars worth of food just to experience the driest steak I have ever tasted in my life. Spiders crawling on the walls and ants. I am never going back to that place. Truly a disgusting experience.

At 6:30 PM on Mother's Day, despite our having a reservation, we had to wait for a table. We were seated with a couple of other parties in a large section of the restaurant that was otherwise empty - so obviously the restaurant was not staffed to serve the whole place, despite its being Mother's Day. We had to wait a long time for anybody to visit our table - no chips, no water, no order-taking, no service - and then once we had ordered, we had to wait a really long time for our two chicken Cesar salads, which is all we ordered (aside from a couple of glasses of water). When we were finished, as the waiter walked away from a fourth party that had later been seated near us in this large otherwise-empty area (without visiting the other underserved parties in this area, including us), I got up and chased after him to ask for the check, because I wasn't willing to wait yet another long time for him maybe to come back. He did bring back the check relatively promptly, and of course I simply handed him my credit card, to eliminate one of the three waits involved in asking for the check, getting it picked up with credit card, and getting it back with charge slip. Visiting a chain Mexican restaurant for two chicken salads and no drinks should not take nearly as long as our visit did last night.

El Torito is ok I always can get a table with Open Table...it's El Torito service...yes it was Mothers Day busy but not overwhelming. I order the flautas and normally there yummy but these had to be fried twice so much oil on my hands when picked up to eat,,, sent back my food and came back better but still oily but not as bad...I feel you need to have better service...maybe I'll drive farther to the one in Sherman oaks...see if there service is better especially on holiday...granted it was Mother's day but like I said it wasn't overwhelming crowded. But I recommend using open table...you can always get a reservation.

We had a reservation for 12noon but didn't get seated until 45 mins later. The restaurants over-booked along with walk-ins. We were told that a reservation only placed us higher on the waiting list. Totally unacceptable mis-management of reservations.

Food and Service were good but the wait for our food was ridiculous! We waited over an hour for our food to come and the restaurant wasn't even busy so it didn't make sense.

I’m a regular at El Torito and I was amazed about the service tonight. I genuinely felt the hospitality when the manager stopped by not only to check on us but made she made us feel just at home. Sherie was our serviced tonight and I might say she is the sweetest and very attentive very spot on we didn’t have to ask for anything.
