The sizzling hot plate entrees are amazing. Mine included a tasty chile relleno.

I was a little disappointed in the brunch experience at El Torito in Hawthorne, on Mother’s Day. I had a 2:00pm appointment and was present 20 minutes earlier. I was treating my 88 year old mother out for a meal. The dining was exclusively buffet “self serve.” I expecting to order off the menu as well as selecting buffet style choices. Because my Mom is challenged walking, I retrieved her food, for her. I was expecting the option to order off the menu and have the wait staff bring her food order. As opposed to only walking up to get the food choices buffet-style. Next time I’ll question the restaurant, before making my appointment during the holiday period.

Food runner was super rude. My drink order got messed up twice. They forgot about my husband drink, one of our main entrees, and the desserts and were ready to charge us. Of course they didn’t even try a little to properly serve us because since we were a large party, the tip was already included. Being in the industry myself, I like it better when you actually earn the tip.

My family and I did not have a good experience at the Hawthorne location. Our waiter had an attitude and was not accommodating to the young children in our party. Some of my family left because of the poor service. Some of the food was stale and undercooked. The drinks were watered down and some were just full of syrup. I love el torito but the Hawthorne location was a horrible experience.

Great service, Nice Alcohol selections, Great food, Perfect for date night, Make reservations cause you will be a** out for a table, wait time on a busy night will be a 1 1/2 hour - 2 hours, I Made sure to make reservations, get there 10 mins early, got us a table within 3 mins, Make sure yall get a second order of the sweet corn, Bomb af

We were waiting for about 45 min for our food , server was slow and the food was not good

We requested seats with the view of the tv. The host said that none were available. The waitress for our table gave us better seats. So, it turned out well.

We were attending a concert at the Kia Forum and needed an early dinner. After viewing quite a few places I chose El Torito as the food is usually good . The only different part is that the ambience is not there. Not your usual south of the border experience. The decor needs help and the sound bounces off the walls . We also sat next to the sports bar area so that was extra loud. The food and service was good and the margaritas did not disappoint. I had a reservation so I was seated close to my 4:00 time choice. We were served right away with drinks ,chips and salsa and as soon as we were ready Jose took our order. The food came soon after. We were on our schedule for sure . So I would recommend this place for dining casually and if needing to attend an event near by.
