The large open-air patio sits high above its big sister, Edible Beat’s concept Linger, and the vibrant Lower Highlands neighborhood below.

Drawing inspiration from the rich, diverse, export culture of the Mediterranean Sea, and its gateway, the Strait of Gibraltar, El Five is a melting pot of all the Mediterranean regions, creating dishes without a home country that taste like favorites from each one: Tapas De Gibraltar.

Gorgeous spot. Food was amazing. Everything we tried was just so good. Their wine menu is all organic. They could use some sound dampening, as it was a bit hard to hear at times but everything else well more than made up for it.

I had arranged for a birthday dinner for here at ElFive for my best friend and she has never been and this has been on her to try list! We had a reservation for 7 at 6:30 and we waiting a bit before getting seated due to server issues ? We had a fairly larger group and were chatting among ourselves and then we were able to get drinks. Our server gave us a brief rundown of our menu and paella options. Paella was an expected 30-45 minute wait and we placed our orders as soon as possible. Our paella took a solid 90-100 mins to get to us and our waiter did not check in our group/ give us an update. We were aimlessly trying to find our waiter. We finally reviewed our paella and birthday girl was pleased. We left really disappointed with our experience! The food was good but the experience was so poor for the price.

We were able to enjoy the chef’s table for our anniversary. Chef Mark was an absolute pleasure to meet and learn from throughout our service. Our server was not as a tentative, and we could tell that Chef Mark was willing to go above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable anniversary.

I booked a reservation (for a table seat) via Open table for a drink at El Five. Our reservation was at 5pm and in the middle of trying to get to the restaurant a bad storm started with hail. We had 3 Uber drivers cancel and were running late. I called the restaurant to let them know and they said they could hold the table for 20 minutes. We arrived at 5:22 and the hostess seated us at the bar. I politely asked her if we could have a table since we had a reservation, she went to check and came back and told us this was all the had and again reiterated reservations could only be held for 20 minutes. My husband and I were taking two of our friends here for a celebratory drink after they got engaged yesterday and I really didn’t way to sit at the bar, especially because I had a reservation, was running late because of weather and the restaurant has opened at 5 and there were many many open tables. After getting upset someone came and apologized and sat us at a table. Honestly ridiculous service from the hostess after being 2 minutes late to no fault of our own and being there for a special event, which I had also marked in my Open Table notes. The food is amazing and our server was amazing but I really hated the way I was treated upon arriving. I’ll think twice before going back.

A wonderful evening! Everything was perfect for this "7 Regions of Spain" dinner -- 7 incredible food courses from 7 different regions of Spain, all expertly paired with regional wines. Truly a magnificent and magical meal.

We've had wonderful experiences at El Five in the past, but we thought that the menu/food was a bit off last night. We weren't thrilled with the lamb shank dish as it was shredded and not as flavorful as we had hoped. The chicken croquettas were cooked perfectly, but the inside was not flavorable. Unfortunately, both of my preferred glass wines were not available either. So just an off night, but we'll certainly return again!

First of all, the server for our table was wonderful, respectful, and knowledgeable. The food was out outstanding! I would highly recommend El Five. However, my one complaint was with the hostess. I am from out of town, and my friend wanted to take me to El Five as a special treat. The hostess (she) started to take us off to the right of the restaurant, and my friend kindly asked if we could sit on the city side for the view - the hostess said, "Uhhh, surrre, no - freaking - problem." in a condescending tone. We brushed it off, but her customer service was really rude and disappointing for such a high-end restaurant. Not a great start! But loved the rest of our experience.

I cannot minimize how great it is to have valet parking on site! Our check in was easy and we were seated right away. While I appreciate that we had a window view, the sun was almost unbearable. We arrived about 90 min before sunset. The shade was down but the sun was strong. I’ll ask for a seat on the East side of the dining room next time. Solid drink menu with great gin and tonic options. Favorite appetizer was the eggplant fries. Our table of 4 shared a vegetarian paella with cauliflower rice and a standard carne paella. The vegetarian option was just okay, but the Carne was outstanding. There were wonderfully tasty meats and the juices from those richly flavored the rice. The portions were fair and the service was great. I’d definitely go back.

Our server Cory was top notch! Knew the menu well, checked on us a perfect amount and made solid recommendations. The sangria was delicious and so was the house made pita, burrata dish and lamb shank. Where it fell off the tracks for me a bit was the seafood. The shrimp dish was overcooked to the point of mushy shrimp and then it was like someone put it under a broiler to crisp it and forgot it was there. So it was burnt yet mushy. And we had high hopes for the paella but it was pretty underwhelming. We expected a lot more flavor and again, the seafood was overcooked. For a tab of almost $400, we really expected TOP NOTCH food and it was about a 7/10. The views are great, the decor is awesome and it’s a neat experience. Just not one I’d repeat often.

My girlfriend and I try and pick one nice restaurant a month to try out and after our wonderful experience at Linger a couple of months ago, we were excited to try El Five. Unfortunately from the moment we went up the elevator we had just little to no customer service. Granted everything and everyone seemed all over the place. There was no host for the first couple of minutes when we got up there and after being seated we were left alone with no one coming up to us until 5 minutes after we sat and someone brought over water without saying anything to us. After another 10-15 minutes a different server stopped and asked if we had been helped. Instead of getting a normal "hey how are you all?" We got "okay, I'll take your order then, what can I get you" we didn't get any recommendations on any dishes just had to order. From there we didn't have a true server until the end of the meal when our paella came out we got assigned a server finally who had no involvement in our dinning experience outside of bringing the check. Hearing everyone else's experiences around us and seeing reviews prior we were hopeful of having a nice experience at an upscale restaurant, but we both walked away feeling out of place because of the lack of attentiveness from anyone for us when all the other tables near us seemed to be having wonderful treatment. The food was great outside of the undercooked potatoes but I don't foresee us ever wanting to come back which is a shame because we went into the date night ready to fall in love with a new spot and instead both left wondering if our casual attire and young appearance made up seem like we didn't belong. I've never left a meal feeling this way and was truly a shame and a waste of monthly date.

Love this place! It has some of the more inspired dishes I’ve seen in Denver in a long time. We are all small plates and every single one of them was fantastic. We had bison, rabbit, ham and beef dishes and all were nothing short of superb. This was also a celebration of a job promotion and we were seated w two glasses of Prosecco which was a very nice touch. Beautiful views of the city, good vibes and amazing food and staff. Get yourself over there. 👉🏻

Not my best experience at El Five. Our server was unfriendly and unhelpful. Definitely gave off a vibe like he was "too cool" for us. We had items brought to the table that we didn't order and stated as much - they took them away (as they should), but we were charged anyway. Some dishes were outstanding, some were mediocre. But overall the service made us feel that we were a waste of space/time. I won't be back.

The food was fantastic, as were the cocktails. The service was lacking a bit. Not sure if they were overbooked, but they didn’t check in for a good 45 minutes while we waited for a dish that wasn’t actually put in. They did comp that item though, which was very kind.

We sat at Chef’s table (because we were late for our reservation due to GPS issues and traffic) but it turned out to be a wonderful experience! Incredible views and some nice chatting with the prep chef and some free samples! Would highly recommend!

Our server was very helpful and the food was delicious. Glad we gave this place a second try, it was much better this time.

Was a little bit underwhelmed. Been wanting to go here for years and was expecting to just love it. I liked it but didn’t love it. Maybe the cost put a little of a damper on it.

Check in was super smooth. Right up to level 5. View of the city was nice. Service was top notch. Seafood Paella was incredible.

Dan the bartender was fantastic! So attentive, funny and we all enjoyed his company. The new menu items were good. We had a great time at the bar and will be back soon!
