The food and the service were great. We tried the duck enchiladas with pipián mole and they were delicious. The tacos de carne asada were also excellent. Their homemade tortillas were fantastic.

Salmon and crispy barbacoa relleno were delicious. High quality food and drinks for reasonable prices, which is a rarity in Austin. Very nice and helpful server, as well. Noisy evening, but that was due to patrons seated nearby.

I have been for breakfast and lunch now, and the food has been consistently great. I very much enjoy the departure from traditional and often bad Tex-Mex in the area. The flavors are bright, the execution is on point, and the value for what you are getting is excellent. I will continue to come back!

Our server Stephanie went above and beyond. The food was served quickly and with three of us dining all we were surprised at how warm all of our entrees were served and at the same time too! Will definitely be back when we desire a casual dining experience.

We had the best server, she had great meal recommendations that did not disappoint! Margs were great too. Not overly sweet and made with fresh ingredients. It was exactly what we needed after a day of work travel.

We had a great time with friends and family celebrating the Cap 10K race on Sunday. We had made reservations for our large party and got the “party room” which was perfect. Jared was a terrific and patient server. Love that parking is easy here.

El Alma never disappoints ! The cocktail selection with chili salted rims are some of my favorites in a town with a lot of competition. The new south location is larger with better parking, but a bit louder than original. Mainly because it’s open and usually full of cool people with lots of energy. Must try the ceviche (not the tomato sauce kind, which I prefer) and their unique rellano and enchilada choices! Yum.

Unfortunately not great- waited almost 10 min once seated for a server to come. Food was not as described (spicy vs not) and table next to us sat with food scattered across it for the first 20 min of our meal - kind of like a lubys. Not a nice environment. Disappointed.

The margaritas and food were good. Our server did a good job too. It was a first date so we probably overstayed our reservation but the server was not bothered by it.

I knew it would be good but did not expect to be wowed! Everything had flavor and innovation. I had the Tacos (beef, pastor and pato) delish. The Elote Calegones was the bomb. I can’t wait to go back.

Same great food and service as original location, but roomier setting. Ceviche is amazing. Generous with chips and green and red salsas. Quality, choice and price of tacos is best in Austin. And don’t get me stated in the rellanos !!

Olga was our server at lunch and she recommended the pork. It was perfectly seasoned and so tender. I have eaten at this location 6 times now and it is always creative and delicious selections. Olga was correct in her recommendations. A perfect lunch, not too heavy or spicy. Simply satisfying.

Good for vegetarians and gluten free. Interesting blends of flavors. The enchiladas Verdes were very good. Flavorful and tender chicken with a little kick. Hollandaise eggs were also very good on corn pudding. Ambiance is nice. Service was solid. Will be going back to try other items!

We are big El Alma fans but also live in Southwest Austin. We are so pleased by the new location. We loved everything about it. It is different than the original location, but different and unique in a wonderful way. Great job on the renovations. We look forward to coming back soon for the great margaritas and wonderful food.
