With Echo & Rig Chef Sam Marvin has introduced a pioneering new concept transforming the long-held theories behind the steakhouse formula.

We put a unique nose-to-tail spin on the traditional steakhouse, allowing diners to indulge in the best cuts of meat for incredibly approachable prices.

A butcher before a steakhouse, we use every part of the animal. We care about every animal - how it lived, what it ate, and how it was cared for.

Our 7,000 square foot space is located in the Downtown Commons Neighborhood (DOCO) in the lobby of The Sawyer Hotel. Situated on the bustling J Street corridor facing the Golden 1 Center main entrance.

We have a versatile space: a private dining room with audio/visual capability, an outdoor patio, and an outdoor bar available for rent.

We had the best dinner at Echo and Rig! The service was excellent and the food is spectacular! Zach was our server and his steak suggestions were excellent. The appetizers and sides were so fresh and delicious( oysters and calamari).

We were tucked behind a wall and I suspect our waiter was overwhelmed or forgot about us.He didn't check on us until we were almost finished with our meal. They brought out a complimentary dessert, which was thoughtful, but we each still had a half a glass of wine. We felt rushed out the door. Not the experience we were hoping for. The Bibb salad was the best thing we had.

I cannot remember the managers name that greeted us but he was a taller bearded man, he was super polite and very welcoming and even wished me n my wife a happy anniversary. Now our server, Isa, by far one of the best if not the best service I’ve ever experienced. Definitely went above and beyond, even asking if we had any food allergies, which I’ve never been asked that prior to ordering. They were phenomenal! The chef was so kind to spoil us with a Mac n cheese, a new spring time item, and the tiramisu for dessert all to wish me and my wife a happy anniversary. This is our second time visiting Echo, and I can confidently say my wife and I I will always return here. The food is well worth the price, management are so kind and welcoming, the server and service will not disappoint. Thank you Echo & Rig for making our anniversary even more memorable! You guys definitely have a forever customer!

Echo & Rig is a vibe! The service from my waiter, bus boy (man), host, bartender, and manager, Michael was above and beyond they best service I have received from any restaurant ever before! My wife and I celebrated our second year anniversary here and it was by far the best choice I've made after choosing to marry her! LOL Also, the food was great and the drinks were perfect! We'll be back for sure!

Both times my fiance and I have dined here we noticed how phenomenal the service is. We were a little early to our reservation & they sat us immediately. A manager will come up to the table and chat with you right away & someone brings sparkling or stilled water. We feel so special when we’re there and both servers we’ve had have been so kind. We were celebrating our “pre-anniversary” being one year away from our wedding date and the staff gave us a free appetizer and desert. I got the Spencer steak both times, each time it was juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. My fiance likes a fattier cut of steak & he decided to try the Spencer since I was raving about it the first time so he preferred the ribeye but still thought his steak was tasty & cooked great. We’ve also tried the 8 cheese mac n cheese, roasted broccolini, a sweet and spicy cauliflower dish, Caesar salad & fried spinach salad. The Caesar is a must. Also don’t skip the broccolini or Mac. The other two were good but not my favorite. By the time we left we were so full & happy. If you’re looking for somewhere for a special occasion I definitely recommend coming here you cannot go wrong, the food the staff and ambiance are all a 10/10.

Great atmosphere perfect for a date. It can be very noisy and some of the appetizers were a bit too sweet. Definitely recommend for a great vibe and drinks. Filet mignon was also excellent.

The steaks were excellent but the side dishes were disappointing. We thought it was kind of lame to serve a delicious steak with potato chips and one measly stuffed mushroom. A side of sauté veggies would have been a better choice to accompany the steak. It was extremely loud in the restaurant but the service was great.

Amazing experience, great food, service was amazing not only by our server, but also the manager mage a stop by the table a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. This was a business meeting, and I will definitely be returning with my wife for date nights. -Adam Wilson

We were very pleased with the managers introduction. He made sure we were well taken care of. On top of that, we were given a fried spinach salad on the house. The booth was well secluded and it felt like you had enough privacy with your date. I would recommend coming here for a night out or if you’re going to watch a show by the golden one center.

Overall it was a good experience. I'm not sure they would be a go to, but we would give it another chance. The good: *great location for the Golden One events *food was good *beautiful building *Servers and managers were delightful! They were busy, but made sure to come around to ensure we were still ok and let us know it would be awhile. The not so good *Our steaks were pretty cold. They were cooked, but we watched them sit completed for a good 10/15 minutes before they were brought out to us. *smaller portions. Their Mushroom Rockefeller was 1 small button cap stuffed mushroom and you either get a giant 45oz steak or something under 10oz for most of the servings. Not real middle ground *LOUD and Slow - they are popular! so plan on being at dinner for awhile. Highly suggest ordering small plate aps while you wait. *They ran out of beverages. 2 of the drinks we ordered they had to come back and tell us they ran out.

Overall- it was excellent. Loved all the food we ordered with the exception of the pork belly burnt ends which were okay. Steaks were cooked perfectly. We did feel rushed and the timing between appetizers and main dinner were extremely close together. It is extremely loud inside, but makes for a lively atmosphere. Definitely not a place to go to for a quiet dinner.

Literally the most amazing hospitality from beginning to end. We were celebrating an anniversary and every single person we interacted with was next level amazing. We eat out a lot and love trying new places and this was our first time here and it will definitely NOT be our last. AFTER raving about it to everyone we knew, we repeatedly heard similar reactions and have come to realize this place should be the standard for all restaurants. A million stars!

A wonderful dining experience. It began with the manager seating us and asking about our day, reason for being there, etc. This information was conveyed to our server, Issa, who greeted us and asked more about our day. Issa was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, while providing great insight and recommendations on pairing for the steaks. We received absolutely amazing service from Kim. We could not speak more highly of her and the experience she provided. The drinks were also exceptional. However, everything else about our meal was a miss. Our food came out completely cold, over cooked, and or undercooked. Some items were missing others arrived late. It was all over the map. I’ve eaten here multiple times and always found the steaks cooked perfectly. This visit was disappointing especially since I was brining out of town guests. The restaurant was also very loud making for difficult conversation. I recommend this spot often and because of my previous meals will give it another try. If this had been my first visit I would not be interested in going back.

We always eat here when we're in Sacramento. Portabello fries are a must-do appetizer. My husband loves their fillet. My favorite dish is the artichoke and shrimp. TBH I didn't care for the brussel sprouts as I prefer them roasted and crispy but others at my table loved them. The fresh bread loaf with dinner was fantastic. Service is always top notch. There's a drink with passion fruit that I get every time.

Our food was wonderful and had so much flavor. The service was fantastic, friendly, and prompt. It was a lovely place to celebrate my husband's birthday before heading to the Kings game. I highly recommend this establishment and will be back again.

If you’re a steak person be sure to order the rib cap. It’s awesome, it does sell out sometimes so ask to reserve them when you first get seated. Mushroom soup and raw oysters are the perfect starters!

Outstanding experience! I came here for my birthday with a few friends and we were treated amazingly. The managers and our servers were very attentive, answered all of our questions, and made us feel comfortable! I would highly recommend Echo and Rig and am so grateful because they brought out a dessert to end our celebration as well as gifts from the kitchen. I’m so happy we dined here and will definitely be back! Definitely recommend the cauliflower appetizer as well as any of the salads! The charred onion sauce and entrees were delicious! Food was fantastic and the staff definitely made my night special!

Ordered a medium rare steak. Emphasized closer to rare side. It came out medium well and well done in some parts. I expect more from a steak house, especially when we are averaging $100 a person for food and drink costs. Food was overly salted (vegetables for example). My first time in Sacramento and won’t be back since I can probably find better food else where.

Had a great lunch here.. on Easter Day with my kids. Was actually not too busy, it was quite enjoyable. Food was good, and came out fairly quick. Will definitely be coming back soon!

I was impressed by the quality of the food and steak was definitely cooked correctly and had good flavor from the wood fired grill. Service from server mgr and staff was top notch and it was before a kings game which made it even more impressive. Definitely will be back. See you all soon.
