Our newly rebranded "Eat Bar & Patio Haraheri" is open once again! Located conveniently in the center of Downtown Vancouver between Granville Entertainment District and Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center, you can enjoy Japanese fusion tapas, beer and more on our spacious patio under a starlit Vancouver sky.

We keep seats for walk-in customers as well. No available seats on OpenTable does not mean we are fully booked. Please be aware that we have a two hour seating limit during peak hours.

It was a terrible experience not because only for the food (portion and taste wise) but also the NOT attentive service. For few times, the order of dishes came wrong when we wondered and asked, the manager said he will look into it. Never improved. There are 9 different dishes which I believe the chef designed them to present them in this order for a reason and that's how usually restaurant shows its presentation. The food portion was terribly small. I really thought it was so little for 1 person, then we found out that was for 2 people. It's even smaller than other restaurant's kids menu. For example for ebi mayo, each person get ONE ebi and for edamame, you get ard 4 tiny ones each. The last carbonara made us wait half an hour to arrive, we were at one point gonna just pay and go. We couldn't find our waitress (who is very nice, also the manager was actually nice too) so we tried to talk to a guy with glasses. Terrible waitor, don't think he could be the manager. Basically ignored me when I ask him for help. (hoping to ask about the carbonara) The food quality is not the best, but NOT worth $55 for sure. Really should have just gone to gyu-kaku downstairs for better value and service. My bad luck to pick a restaurant to try on an anniversary. When I booked through opentable, the menu says $50 (now still says $50) but it's $55 guess the owner never bothered to update for a reason. ( I mentioned to them when I called to confirm my reservation) Overall, a bad experience about the food (the worst portion) and service (the glasses guy looks mad all the time, no smile) Will not recommand to any of my family nor friends, and we won't go back anymore! PS: I am a real customer and have all the pictures of food if you are interested in knowing more of our experience. I'm just surprised how some ppl left perfect experience there, which looks unreal to me. Noted there are so many ppl who got paid to write reviews nowadays we couldn't trust all the reviews now.

The decor of the restaurant is very unique. I went with a friend to try out their family style Izakaya, we opt for the $35 traditional menu. The whole menu is not bad some items were more tasty than others and also some lack flavour. Service is attentive and came back many time to refill our glasses of water and taking empty plates away.

We had the Izakaya menu: nicely diverse selection of foods, appropriate quantity and beautifully prepared and presented. Service was prompt, efficient, and friendly.

We had eaten here about 4 months ago and it was amazing. Not so much this time. Service was slow and we were largely ignored. The courses were not evenly spaced. Some took a long time. They were not particularly busy so not sure what the issues are. We left disappointed.

It’s my family’s go to place lunch place in downtown when we want to eat Japanese food. I am Japanese myself, and I think they serve quality food at reasonable price at lunch time. Service is great also. I would highly recommend this restaurant! Better than similar restaurants that you have to line up in Vancouver.

As always, the food is consistently great and the service is attentive with a smile. We always wonder why they don’t get busier during lunches because their menu offers good variety (hamburgs, oden, sukiyaki, fried chicken, etc) in a densely packed business district. This is one of our regular lunch izakaya spots and will continue to be. Underrated!

Went for a birthday dinner. Ordered the izakaya course menu and added some items. Food was great and came out fairly quickly. Also got a surprise birthday dessert which was nice. Would go back again!

We found out about Haraheri randomly but glad we did! We were on the patio for our New Year’s Eve dinner but it was still cozy and warm with the heaters. Food was great. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back again.

(Edited) As the owner of the restaurant requested, I edited my review, but I wouldn't delete my original review on Google. I had a terrible experience at Haraheri restaurant. The server lied about the price and overcharged me. While the owner apologized and offered a refund and token, I refused because of the poor treatment we received. I won't be returning to the restaurant.

A consistently good, authentic meal where even if you don’t pre-order for 10% off, it’s a good value given today’s inflationary times, sometimes coupled with smaller portions at other restaurants. It’s one ☝🏻 f our go-tos for Izakaya.

Great happy hour options and prices. Just wish there were more photos bc some of the menu I wasn’t sure of. The ebi mayo and saba sushi were really good! The Mentaiko Aglio e Olio didn’t really meet expectations. The sapporo draft beer was amazing and the mega is huge! Overall I’d definitely come back!

We had a great meal with friends. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly, we had a lovely conversation with our server. We talked about the area of Japan that was her hometown and we may visit that area on our next trip to Japan. We highly recommend dining at Haraheri for a special occasion. The menu has upscale izakaya items, even several vegetarian items. One favourite dish was the beef tongue.

Food was very good. We wanted unique and got it. Service was a little slow but otherwise very good. There are lots of stairs needed to access this restaurant. We could not find an elevator.

Great for a special night out. Took an out of town guest here and the food was excellent. Guest had very particular dietary preferences and we were able to find plenty to choose from between that and my crustacean allergy. Definitely will be going back to try one of the tasting platters rather than go a la carte next time.

I had the chicken karaage, tuna tartare, and duck breast dishes. Chicken karaage was juicy and yummy. Yuzu(?) mayo paired well. Pieces were slightly on the smaller side. I liked the crispy chicken skin. Duck breast was okay—the sauce and mayo overshadowed the flavour of the duck. Skin sear wasn't crispy. Tuna tartare was really hard to eat and stomach. The tuna wasn't fresh, was like eating complete mush. It ruined my evening. The saving grace was that the food wasn't too expensive. Cheaper than a lot of places in comparison.

We shared several dishes and all were incredibly delicious and so were the drinks 😊. What surprised us was the low prices for such fresh, delicious dishes. Highly recommend!

Food was unexpectedly disappointing, not appetizing at all. We both ordered the Royal Bento box which was highly recommended from the reviews posted! However it turned out to be the worst bento box I have ever seen & overpriced for the quality. There were way too many fried food items, excessive use of mayo, food didn’t look fresh, grilled fish was fishy….. overall unacceptable quality. Only thing positive & deserving any stars was the pleasant servers !
