Originally opened in 2005, Garrett Harker’s flagship restaurant is reopening its doors up Beacon St. only three blocks from its original location. Eastern Standard continues to offer seasonally focused New England interpretations of classic brasserie fare under the direction of Culinary Director Nemo Bolin. The menu features raw bar and charcuterie, nostalgic favorites like Frisée aux Lardons, Steak Tartare, Baked Rigatoni, and Butterscotch Bread Pudding, and some new soon-to-be-instant-classic dishes. Cocktail legend Jackson Cannon has crafted a beverage menu that features an array of craft cocktails both new and classic, a curated selection of wines, and craft beers from near and far.

    The lunch menu is quite boring and a bit uninspired. It's too bad because the dinner menu seems really nice

    It was my first time back to ES after it left Kenmore Square, during the pandemic, and I really enjoyed it. I had a tequila cocktail and the NEW pulled pork sandwich. I look forward to dining there again, maybe in the lounge or bar.

    The space is beautiful once you are in the restaurant even though arriving there is a bit sketchy. Server was very pleasant but not particularly well informed. Spring pea salad was the highlight. The dish I ordered was unavailable but they only told the server after we finished the salad. We got charged for that even though it never arrived. Server, to her credit, was helpful and apologetic. They really should train servers more effectively. Wine list by the glass is inadequate for dishes on menu - nothing to pair with Italian tomato based dishes even though many on menu. Server wholly untrained in wine - she suggested a Cab Sauv for spaghetti and meatballs. Overall for a place with deep enough pockets to build such an incredible space, they should do better training servers. Also the water they served tasted terrible - clearly not filtered in house. Hoping for improvements.

    Very loud group when we arrived made it difficult for us to talk despite being across the room. The service was surprisingly uneven, we asked for a few minutes before ordering which ended up being a long wait ( all cocktails finished). Food was good but we have had much better associated with this restaurant. Few clams with spaghetti, uneven spices on dishes some too salty some needing more favor. Chocolate cake huge portion but unremarkable flavors.

    Our return to Eastern Standard for the first time in the new space and it was absolutely lovely! Delicious food, excellent service, and the old school ESK vibe. We loved it and can’t wait to come back!

    Very disapointed in new Eastern Standard after loving old Eastern Standard. All entrees were not good. Same with dessert. Only standout was calamari, which was great.

    Amazing outdoor seating, great food and great service! There was a mixup with our dessert but the staff was super super nice and apologetic about it. Such a professional and lovely restaurant.

    Not sure how I survived for the three years ES was closed but their new location is better than ever. It’s great to see the owner out on the floor working side-by-side with his team, whether that means busing tables or solving problems, and always setting a great tone from the top. The food is spectacular (baked rigatoni is one of my top ten restaurant meals anywhere) and the drinks are creative and top notch. Very friendly and accommodating service and great experience!
