D.Z. Atkins has become very overpriced and the food was not terrific. Soup was cold, Gefilte fish for $9.99 was the size of a hard boiled egg. I could have bought one or two jars of fish at the grocery store and enjoyed it more. Booths are small and not comfortable. My check for 3 people was $119. Plus $15. tip. I’ll no longer go back there.

We are never disappointed when we go to DZ Akins and I’ve been going there since it first opened. Great food, large portions, relaxing environment, and friendly staff.

This is the greatest place in the world to eat!! Perfect for families! So much food you can never eat it all and everything is so fresh! Great bakery as well!! We live in Oregon but make it one of our absolute go to spots when we come to San Diego! Have been going to D.Z. Akin’s for over 20 years and have never been disappointed!! We tell everyone going to San Diego to go!! Buy a loaf of the bread pudding from the bakery to take with you, it is the best I’ve ever had!!

Such a great spot with an extensive menu. We very much enjoyed the ethnic sampler and the incredible corned beef.

Nice selection of traditional Jewish foods, as well as many other dishes. Good food and friendly atmosphere. Our server did forget that we ordered salads, so brought our entrees first.

Just okay. It used to he really good. The food wasn’t what it used to be and our server seemed like she was doing us a big favor. When it was time for the check she said normally she’d take our payment for us but she got a few tables and didn’t have time. Okay.
