Shrimp and grits are outstanding, and the pizza was incredible. We went for brunch and headed back for dinner. We live in Massachusetts and are heading back tomorrow with one of those pizzas in our luggage.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Seemed a little understaffed as we sat a while waiting to order more drinks. Food was good, but didn't feel the price matched the quality and taste. Antipasto and calamari were good.

Usually the food is great. This time we opted or the steak, which is pricy. We ordered Medium rare, mine came medium, with a slight reddish tint (to pretty close to what I wanted) my friend's was well done. The flavoring and sides were very good. The waitress (previously/currently the bar manager?) seemed annoyed, not necessarily with us, but it came through in her interactions with us, a comment about her new coworker and just her tone, which made our experience less enjoyable. She was just 'snippy' the whole time and she did only offer to bring bread after we had been waiting a good while. She did not point out that a 'credit card' charge had already been added to our check, and since we split the check, it had been added twice (one for each person paying with their card). Had we known this we may have combined and reimbursed each other or paid with cash. We have loved and enjoyed going to D'Vino since it opened, loved the other food there (yum Sicilian chicken), loved the service, seeing Dino, even getting talked into dessert. I would say that this was probably our least enjoyable experience there so far. Hopefully this was a one-time disappointment.

This is a gem in downtown Madison. The fine Italian fare here is lovingly made and gorgeously presented.

Dino, the owner, was so attentive and told great stories about his family. You could taste the love and history in his food. The service was great and the staff was amazing.

Lovely evening antipasti appetizer, cocktails, fried ravioli and gelato were highlights. Atmosphere feels very authentic. Unfortunately the table next to us was quite loud. Tables are very close together.
