Consistently good food and service. Restaurant is very small and somewhat cramped but you can request a private table instead of banquette seating.

Duval’s was fabulous all around. We celebrated a birthday and they took special care to leave a card and make it special. The food was outstanding, as was the service, and we even received a voicemail the day after dining thanking us for celebrating there. Top notch!

Our parties food came out at same time which is always perfect. Personable waitress. Soups were perfectly hot. Reasonable pricing. *only disappointment was the (inside restaurant) bench seat in front area that accommodates the two front table… Bench is not comfortable, needs more padding. You can feel every movement of other patrons on the bench from table beside. The party next to ours also complained about this. We have never encountered this issue on the benches inside. Perhaps the front tables are used more often ?

Food is fresh, delicious & nicely presented. Our waiter Shawn was outstanding. He mentioned the specials, suggested his favorites & was very attentive. Duvall's is lucky to have him as a member of their wait staff. We will be back & will request Shawn.

Food was excellent, fresh and well prepared. Service attentive without being intrusive. Only problem with this restaurant is finding a parking space in downtown Sarasota. Will definitely return any time we're staying nearby.

Hostess did not coordinate with waitstaff. We had to wait 10- 15 minutes to get drink orders. Not that we were in a hurry, we were just surprised. Then waitress was ok. Martinis were very good. Calamari as expected; lobster bisque still the best in town; grouper dish was fine to perfection. Seared tuna was delicious. Pasta with shrimp and scallop was just so so. We used to love this place for years. Now we have had to move on to new restaurants in the area.

Another exceptional dining experience last night Al fresco at Duval’s . The fresh catch was grouper that I had grilled , and my friend had blackened . Moist and delicious . We had the calamari app that is a medley of vegetables and calamari . The calamari was lightly battered and not oily . The drinks were generous and the wine perfectly paired . And the service was impeccable . Jennifer paced our meal perfectly , and was a real delight . Duval’s is certainly one of our go to’s downtown

Duval’s is one of our favorite haunts for lunch. This is the third time I ordered clam chowder to start my meal & it never came. I guess it comes down to listening skills lacking by waiters. Disappointed again.

We had a fabulous dinner at Duval’s. My husband is celiac and they took special precautions to ensure there were no dietary issues with his dinner … they even called us ahead to let us know they were aware of his restrictions. He had the fresh grouper and I had shrimp/lobster scampi … both were delicious and expertly prepared. Our server Mackenzie was warm, helpful, efficient and made us feel welcome and valued. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert while dining outside on the patio on a gorgeous evening was the perfect ending. Highly recommend!

Duval’s Fresh. Local. Seafood. prominently displays its Sarasota dining awards on its website. We had to try it and were pleased we did. It was hopping at lunchtime! Lots of buzzy conversation. The small booths are comfortable. Service was solid. Our server, Denise, prepared our generous martinis with bleu cheese olives. We each had the gazpacho to start. It was fantastic! For our entrées, we each had a Florida grouper sandwich on a toasted baguette. My wife had her fish pan-seared, while I went the blackened route, which gave it a crispy exterior. Delicious. The side slaw was a little bland but the sweet potato fries were masterful. Duval’s apparently earns those local media accolades.

Great service by Mackenzie. Red snapper was very good. Crème Brule for dessert was excellent!

The server was outstanding and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, I had reserved a patio table expecting a quiet area next to or behind the restaurant. Our table was on the sidewalk where there was quite a bit of foot traffic and was at the edge close to the street where we had to listen to motorcycle and wannabe racecar drivers revving their engines.

We were at Duvall's for lunch. We dined outside and it was lovely. Our meals were superb. My husband and I enjoyed the famous and delicious Shrimp Po'Boy sandwich. The baguette was a superb compliment to the sandwich. Our friend had the special Red Snapper sandwich. It was a really nice large piece of fried fish. It was pricey but delicious as well. The service was very good and staff friendly. This is one of our favorite restaurants downtown.

We had amazing and attentive service. Our server, Jen, was truly top-notch. The food was absolutely delicious and adequately priced. The only downside would be - they didn’t have the proper ingredients to make one of their signature drinks (something pineapple, I can’t remember the name). However, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
