Brian Dunsmoor’s namesake restaurant, Dunsmoor, is the latest iteration of his ongoing exploration of American heritage cooking. It is, first and foremost, a restaurant for the community that surrounds it, and a loving expression of the relentless research that has informed his cooking for the last ten years.

We offer the full menu at tables in our dining room and at the chef's counter, as well as at our outdoor tables. Reservations are recommended but we make every effort to accommodate walk-ins when possible.

Dunsmoor's wine bar, accessible either through the restaurant or via its own door on Ave 35, does not accept reservations and serves a limited menu of our raw and larder items.

Incredible service and food. Strawberry pie was to die for. Neat that there was a kicm of black pepper in the pie crust. For a date, if you can stand some heat, I recommend sitting at the counter. Asparagus salad also great.

Food is outstanding and inventive. Wait staff is well informed and communicates well. Service is excellent and friendly. Noise is a bit much for conversation.

The food was perfect - excellently prepared and outstanding flavor. The menus is also unusual, which I found particularly welcome. I was so excited to try everything, Service was also terrific: knowledgeable, friendly, and checked in at just the right times. Sadly, however, I won't be back. As a professional musician, I just could not tolerate the music: overwhelmingly loud, unrelenting and intrusive. My dinner companion and I could not converse except to yell across the table. This is not a place to go with anyone you'd actually like to converse with. I continue to be mystified as to why so many LA restaurants think its cool to play loud hip hop music. My guess is, the chefs love it. This diner (with hoarse voice the day after) does not.

Always delivers!! King Salmon carpaccio & pea tendril salad among our favorite new dishes for late spring. Will have to return soon for the bar burger.

We went to The Grant for cocktails before our Dinner reservation. Had an amazing evening. Dinner was fantastic. This was our third trip to Dunsmoor. Service was excellent. We tried the Baby Albacore for the first time and loved it. Had to order the Sour Milk Cornbread again, with an extra order to take home. We hit both the Ribeye and Pork Chop for Entrees. Great evening!

Excellent food and atmosphere. Love the menu! The cornbread, salads, fish, ribeye, etc are just amazing! Try the Hub’s peanuts for dessert-dipped in chocolate, wow! Thanks Brian for your love for food and community! We love this restaurant!

Always packed around 8 pm - Our reservation was at 8:30 - got there on time but had to wait about 20 minutes for our table - service was quick; portion sizes are small but delish; the mussels were average though, salmon tartare was great, so was the snappea salad(my boys didnt care for it tho, being a salad :);lamb sirloin was big serving and cooked to perfection - the chocolate cake was nothing extraordinary , just a big wedge of layered choc cake - not recommended; my all time fav was the corn bread of course! Noise level was too loud for my taste - cannot have a conversation at normal tone

The best thing about Dunsmoor is the food, which is all delicious and clearly prepared with a lot of thought and care. There was a long lag between two of our courses, and we received an additional side dish compliments of the house, which was very considerate. It was fairly loud/high-traffic where we were at the chef's counter. I hope to come back for dinner in the dining room to see if it's more relaxed. Lastly, the adjoining bar is a very nice place to wait for one's table!

We loved our food, but it was sooooo loud, and my parents and I were sat at a communal table, and they just arrived from out of town, and the guy next to us was having a heated argument about the baby mama. Would request a private table next time (almost did when we walked in but didn’t want to be high maintenance).

My gf and I had a blast! We celebrated her birthday there and the food was superb! The folks there are all sweet and attentive and are really thriving for you to walk out of there with a positive experience. Thank you all and we’ll see ya real soon

Food was great. Thanks chef! Service wasn’t too great but hey maybe it was because I was ten minutes late to my resy. Server was like a ghoul who sounded like he stayed up too late at the after hours the night before

Beautifully elevated Southern cuisine served family style and with pre Industrial Revolution technology. My husband and I sat at the bar with the hearty front and center. We enjoyed watching the kitchen team at work and every single dish was delicious. We ordered the chopped chicken liver spread, the Carolina rice, and mushroom pork chop with pickled vegetables on the side. And topped it off with strawberry pie. So freaking delicious, we can’t wait to go back!

We had a fantastic meal at Dunsmoor! The service was excellent and the food was fantastic! We began our meal with a snap pea salad and the cornbread. The salad was an interesting mix of sweet peas and pea leaves tossed with a dressing that brought all the flavors together perfectly. The corn bread came in a small skillet and was coated with honey and topped with butter! Such an original and delicious version of cornbread! We had the steak which was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The ambiance was lively and filled with other diner’s chatter! A great meal in every way. We will definitely be back!

Food and Service!!! The Cornbread. EVERY table ordered the cornbread. Also had the grilled asparagus and the lamb sirloin. Both delicious. This is my 2nd time and didn't disappoint. The service was great. The staff very attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere. I wish it were less loud but that's not something they can control. I'm going back soon.

The food is good there but that’s about it. Way too hot in there and service is extremely slow. Server doesn’t know how to stop at all his tables before heading into the back. They need to take a page out of Houstons service book. I would have got a second glass of wine but the server never came back. By the time he did I was done with my food and just wanted to leave. I literally left there and went to Houstons lol.

Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in LA, and a beautiful space, but be aware that the noise level can be extreme, making conversation needlessly difficult The vibe at this restaurant would not be affected in the slightest if the music were not so oppressively loud, in fact, it would only make the experience better and more enjoyable for many, if not most diners.
