People come from near and far to eat, drink and bliss out at Scottish Thistle Award winning Drift, a unique coffee house with breathtaking views over unspoilt miles of Firth of Forth coast and the Bass Rock. Drift is perfect for walkers, cyclists, day trippers and tourists (we’re half a mile away from Tantallon Castle) and very popular with locals too. Everything is freshly made, and, as a farm diversification business born out of a passion for food and drink, we love strengthening the connections between the land, sea and the table.

Visiting Drift just outside North Berwick in East Lothian is a must.....the views are unbelievably beautiful. The menu is not extensive. The food served was very enjoyable.

One of the most amazing little places I’ve been too. The best way to spend a very much brunch date with my very best friend. Views ,food and staff were all phenomenal…highly recommend here. Will definitely be back.

First time here and we were so beyond impressed by how gorgeous and delicious the place was, with an incredibly breathtaking view! The service and food matched! Alex took such great care of us, still dreaming of those chips and chocolate cake! We’ll be back!

One of the best places to visit in East Lothian. Food is continually excellent, the view is amazing and the service excellent.

Welcoming and seated slightly early which was very accommodating. Great first impression of the place and the view! Food was lovely but on the pricey side. Opentable booking states 90 minutes at the table but were asked to leave after approx 65mins which leaves a poor taste in your mouth after travelling distance especially for the ambience, location and to relax. Understand its small and needing turnover of customers but should clarify in advance as repeat custom is also important.

Great menu with good choice for veggies, friendly service and reasonable prices. The location, overlooking Bass Rock really is the star of the show.

Beautiful location with stunning views. Plenty parking. It does get busy so book a table where possible. Food and coffee were good. Nice place to meet for coffee or a spot of lunch.

Wonderful location and the food is exceptional. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and did I mention the food? Now I don't like fish but the smoked salmon was absolutely delicious,so full of flavour and texture and the salad with it was perfect. My wife had the pulled pork burger and sweet potato fries which were perfection on a plate. Such a shame we live 200 miles away as Drift would definitely be a regular haunt for us

Outstanding location with breathtaking views. Food is good- interesting mix - not your normal cafe food. Reasonable price for what it is bordering on the more expensive side

An incredible site for a lovely cafe celebrating locally sourced food. As all vegetarians we tried three of the main options. The potato pizza was maybe the least enjoyed - not exactly sure what was intended there, but it was innovative!

The food and coffee were outstanding. However, on the online booking form I mentioned that (a) the reservation was for a birthday and (b) that my daughter had requested a booth since there were no sea views available. When we got there all the other tables were taken initially, but after about 15 minutes various tables became free. Our food arrived and 6 of us were squashed onto 2 tiny tables with barely any room at all to put our drinks. There was no option given to move seats or spread out at all. Given that there is an option to put in more detail to the request on the form, none of it was taken into account and we ended up all being crushed into the middle. I would think twice about booking a table of 6 again, and of bothering to fill in any info onto the form if it is not taken into account. I would go again but only in small parties as the tables are so small.

This is a beautiful spot for brunch, lunch, coffee and cake. The staff care about every customer and will put together anything that you or your little one requires/desires! Genuinely exquisite food at great prices. A real treat for anytime.

This was my second attempt of coming to this restaurant while in the area and both were unsuccessful. This second time I had booked a table arrived early there was a massive line and everyone seemed to be getting more frustrated the longer they waited to be seated. The place was chaos they said they were short staffed which is absolutely fine but we waited ages to be seated, the staff were grumpy and unwelcoming. They seemed to be more attentive to the take away customers other than the seated customers who had prebooked, people were served who we’re seated way after us and when I asked if we could order the staff told me they were busy and would be back, I stayed 20 minutes more before I asked if it was easier to order from the till and she said no. We ended up leaving. The atmosphere was chaotic and unwelcoming. The service both times I’ve attempted to visit was extremely poor bordering on unprofessional. Moral of the story only visit if you have atleast 2-3 hours free and not on a time limit and I would recommend eating outside and ordering on the take away menu.

What an amazing place! The staff are super helpful and welcoming. We booked here as they could cater for gluten free. The food was excellent. I would certainly recommend pre-booking as it got really busy. We will definitely be coming back here again!

We love going to Drift - the good is always good & menu changes regularly enough to keep it interesting. Great location. The views are amazing. It can get very busy at peak lunchtime so if looking for a more relaxing lunch or coffee go a little later. Staff are very friendly & welcoming.
