The Downtowner is warm and inviting and cozy. The food is excellent as is the service. It's my go to place for anything business related or just for a quiet comfortable evening with my wife. Mo and his entire team make me feel like family.

5:30 on a Friday before a concert, was a little surprised not busy, but Timberwolves and other MPLS events too. Sat right away. Comfy and cozy. Old fashioned was good. Server wasn’t good. When we generally asked “what is good or recommend? She kinda just pointed at menu and pointed to just the highest priced items. The salmon was very good. I was not happy about portion size of my Begetable skewer. Literallly 1 zucchini, 1 red pepper, 1 cherry tomato. Had I known it was literally 3 “pieces” I would have ordered extra because they were good - or get veggies at an appetizer. Wife got penne pasta which very good. When we paid our bill, another server was greeting the table next to ours, and heard her say Halibut was one of the specials for the day. Our server never actually mentioned any specials of the day.

The food is just average. The restaurant is nice inside. Our service was slow, but the waiter was nice. There are a lot of better options fir wood fired restaurants in the cities.

I have been going to Downtowner Woodfire Grill for many years and I always enjoy it. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. In addition, the ambiance is always pleasant and relaxing. I have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I highly recommend all of them.

We’ve been to this restaurant for weekend breakfast/brunch a few times over the past year and the food and service are consistently a good experience. Piano player helps make a welcoming atmosphere. Recommend the Belgian waffle!

Oh my gosh, once again a great meal!!!! I had the Cajun Chicken sandwich and is was so tasty!! I was thinking I would only eat half, but it was so great I ate the whole thing!!!

Aurora was our server today, and did a terrific job. Very attentive and helpful. Just the right amount of "checking in" . We were there fir a birthday celebration, and the cheesecake with candle was very much appreciated. We had the Salmon and Sweet Potato Salad, and a Rachel (substituted for Reuben) Sandwich. Both delicious and plentiful. We enjoyed the pretty surroundings, and toasty fire. Thanks for a nice time!

Love the Downtowner Woodfire Grill! Great food and a very cozy atmosphere, I always get the Persian beef kebab on rice. Easy to park. Close to the Excel. Mo is an excellent host and I highly recommend this very nice restaurant.

We had reservations right before a Wild game with another couple. Of course it is always busy on these game nights but we were quickly seated at our table. Our waiter was great and gave good recommendations. We have dined here many times and are pretty familiar with the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine to split by the four of us. Great wine list with many choices at most price points. Food came out at the right time and was very good as we are used to. We will definitely come back again and can recommend Downtowner for a great meal anytime you are in the neighborhood.

I've had a regular breakfast date with a friend for the last 20 years. We've had a few other regular places but got sick of having to put our names on a list and wait. When I found out that the Downtowner allowed reservations, made online, I decided to give it a try. Great food, decent price, pleasant service. I think we will be coming here for the next 20 years!

Rare is their version of medium for steak. Typically waiting a little before cutting into your steak would have allowed it to become medium, but it was barely warm. My date was not impressed with the steak but enjoyed the rest of her meal. I had the steak salad and the steak was ice cold and very rare. Very grisly and unappealing but the rest of the salad was good. Parking is extremely tight, especially with a truck or large car. If you drive a larger vehicle, might want to consider taking a ride share there.

Our yearly breakfast spot during college hockey tournaments. Great food, great service and all-around excellent. The best part was we had two reservations to hopefully put us near each other and they were able to put us all together one long table. That is what made it the most special!
