Welcome to Downtown Sushi, a restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown San Diego, where Chef Andy crafts a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate. Our star attraction is the Premium Sashimi, which showcases the finest slices of fresh, sourced seafood.

The Love Roll, Fire Roll, and Tower Roll are a testament to Chef Andy's creativity in pushing the boundaries of traditional sushi.

Our exclusive Salmon Flame appetizer is an irresistible burst of flavors that will set your senses ablaze. For a main course that amazes you, savor the Ribeye Steak , a perfectly grilled ribeye with a touch of Japanese flair.

Servers were great and attentive, sushi was overpriced and mediocre (would’ve been better if the fish was higher quality and fresh).

Mari & David is very accommodating & entertaining. They’ve spent so much time checking us out if we are comfortable & enjoying our moment well as this is our wedding anniversary celebration. They’ve even made an effort to prepare us a complimentary green tea ice cream. Truly, it was a memorable & enjoyable dinner for me & my wife. Thanks to Downtown Sushi team.

Cost were very high for the quality of the food. We had Sushi Rolls. Spicy Tuna roll was warm and had a fishy taste. We did not eat it. 3 rolls, 1 app & 1 wine was $138!!

We probably should have left when we walked in for our 6:00 reservation and only one other table was occupied. We sat at the sushi bar. The people that work there are very friendly but the place is just a bit odd and the food was just ok at best. The spring rolls had no flavor, same for the Love roll. The volcano roll was the saving grace andwas very good. The place used to be something else, which explains the murals throughout. It also has this somewhat formal appearance mixed with sports on a few tvs and a projector screen. Just an odd and not very enjoyable experience but the staff was very nice.

Amazing sushi bar!! The fish was very fresh! Beautifully made! Each roll was perfect! We always had full drinks and our servers were amazing! Even at a very busy time we were able to fit us in for a party of 2. Very clean restaurant. I hope to be in town again soon and will definitely return!

This place is delicious and the staff is awesome! They're super friendly and so accommodating to your needs. We celebrated a birthday here and everything exceeded my expectations. Would def recommend this spot!

We had a reso for 9:45 (due to a later flight, and wasn’t sure we could get into town for an earlier reso) and when we got there (around 8:30) they told us they were potentially doing last call. I told the server that we were the 9:45 reso, and he was very excited and welcoming to us. We sat outside, and proceeded to order. Our server was the same gentleman who greeted us, and he was awesome!! He helped with the menu, was super responsive and pleasant, and was totally fine with us being for there until 10:30. The food was also absolutely incredible!! The gentleman’s name is David, and he deserves a raise and a promotion!! Job well done!
