Down South CaJJun Eats was founded by twin brothers Jahmaal and Jermaine Dumes in the Spring of 2017. While Studying at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX they decided to take a leap of faith. Originally from Beaumont, TX, they felt a tremendous part of their lives was missing in Austin. And that was Crawfish!!

Coming from a family of cooks, they’ve always dreamed of starting a restaurant in their home state. With the help and support of family and friends, they were able to make this dream come alive.

We take pride in our authentic style of cooking and strive to give you the full Down South CaJJun experience with great food, great people, and a great time! Bringing the great taste of Southeast Texas/Louisiana to Austin!

Attended the Mother's day brunch. They handed me a rose upon entry. Great food, drinks and music. Staff was friendly and professional. Prices are reasonable.

food was AMAZING, great atmosphere, good vibes with music and hookahs. waitstaff confused a few of our guest plates as different people were bringing out our food and not specifying what all was on it that was specific to what we were ordering.

Went for R&B night they literally played everything but R&B. Music loud service slow which was concerning seeing that no one was even in there. Prices were too high for what was being offered. It was SXSW weekend so I am willing to give it another try.

Everything was great. The vibe was amazing. My food was a little salty for my tatstes, but I really enjoyed myself.

The food was not to my liking! You get plastic utensils to cut deep fried French toast that was highly over fried! The chicken was okay kind of dry. The grits were runny but the lamb chops were small and seasoned well. Service and music was great! My hookah order took forever and it took almost an hour for them to come back to change the coals then she said she forgot and took another 20-30 mins before she came back to actually change them. I love the outdoor area. I would go back for drinks and music definitely not for the food!

Love the new location, food was amazing. Had a reservation but still had to wait to be seated for another 45 mins. My drink was good “ Girls need love too” They probably just need more help besides that it is one of my favorite spots to go too.
