We are a neighborhood restaurant & wine bar located in the heart of the Charlestown Navy Yard. Little sister to Brewer's Fork, we focus on wine, house-made pasta and local seafood. We have a large, dog-friendly seasonal patio located on a tree-lined cobblestone walking street. We are located just off the Freedom Trail, steps away from the U.S.S. Constitution Museum & Boston Harbor Walk.

Food and service were exceptional! Sat at the bar and Alexa made wonderful wine and food recommendations. Shared the tuna tartare and sardine toast (a special that night), and ordered the lobster spaghetti. The lobster portion was impressive - I ran out of pasta before lobster - and the miso butter sauce was sooo good (but not too heavy). Also tried my friends’ dishes, the red snapper on rice, and seared scallops. Both were equally exquisite. Will keep coming back!

I absolutely love this restaurant. The focaccia and house-made pastas are a must-order!! The service is quick, knowledgeable, and friendly. Have never had a bad experience here.

The fries were amazing and the entrees were very solid. But the cocktails were underwhelming and a lot of the other starters just fell short of expectations. We didn't hate anything, just not really motivated to go back ever again.

A high-quality neighborhood restaurant serving a variety of seafood, pasta, and American bistro fair. The dishes were good, but not outstanding. The service was attentive. Overall, it was a quality meal just don’t expect anything above and beyond.

Outstanding asparagus app. Nice bed of fava purée underneath topped with marvelously soft and subtle feta dollops. Scallops were good but odd pairing with roaster hazelnuts thrown in that weren’t cohesive with the dish. Good food overall

Delicious food! Tried two specials and they were great too. Love the wine list. A Mencia from Spain is a real treat. Great service. Wish it was a little less noisy but would eat here every night if I could !!

Lovely restaurant hidden in Charlestown. Food was delicious; we got the oysters, brussels sprouts,red snapper with fried rice and rigatoni. Seating was a little uncomfortable and service a slightly disjointed. We only took an hour for our meal and was very rushed at the end.

As always our meal at Dovetail was spot on. I had the snapper and my wife the scallops. Bother dishes were thoughtfully prepared, attractive and very tasty. We’ve been fans for years and have never been disappointed in our meals at Dovetail or their sister restaurant, Brewers Fork.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Charlestown. Each person we interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. They have high end wine at less than high end prices. The ambience is great. We went in March. We definitely want to go back in the warmer months because they have a great outdoor space.

We went to the Valentine's dinner. With a pre paid 3 course meal, we were offered options ( 3 options per course). We couldnt have what we wanted in the first course ( Raw Tuna) they offered as a fish replacement we said no and went with the steak tartar, only for our surprise they first came to the table with the different fish they offered first. Secondly my wife and I wanted to have the Wagyu as the main dish, and again they said they would only have 1 piece left of Wagyu. My wife told me to get the Wagyu while she got something else. Guess what, I know Wagyu and that definitely was not what I am used to, and best a top sirloin from an Angus. The desert was really good and the server despite the mistakes was cheerful and trying his best. The music, although not for the Valentine mood, was good. Would I get back to give it an extra opportunity? Probably, but I dont the Valentine experience worthed it,

Went to Dovetail for the Valentine's Day pre-fixe menu. The food was excellent - everything was well-balanced, good texture, flavorful, filling, etc. Wine and cocktails were delicious. Fair prices, great energy in the place, etc. We've been here many times, and would recommend this place to others who are looking to have a small gathering. My biggest complaint is that the table nearest the door (where we sat) was drafty when the door opened, and we had people waiting to be seated on either side of us because there was no standing room near the door. But the food and experience was otherwise so wonderful that we didn't feel that having people standing within 3 ft of us was all that terrible.

Amazing!!! The food was delicious - flavor packed and right to taste - ambiance was intimate and still fun - we were placed by the kitchen and still enjoyed our seating. Overall great experience!

This place is absolutely amazing! This was our first time dining with Dovetail, my wife and I were incredibly overjoyed with both the service and kitchen! It was our planned v-day dinner and you all made one hell of an impression on us. We will 100% be back to take another tour with the Dovetail staff.

The food was excellent. Great shareable options the vegetarian in our party. We are a group of friends who will always order dessert if the meal is great. Dovetail, we’d love to see you add desserts to your already amazing menu!

This was a lovely dining experience, however, some of the meals were large and others were minuscule. And no dessert? It doesn’t have to be a huge offering, but some people still like to finish their dining experience with dessert, coffee and/or tea (and there was no tea…).
