Dos Olivos Market in Buda was a mixed bag. It is located in in a building that houses several shops and meeting places. It has a small market area of a few shelves with high end jams, oils, etc. They may have been understaffed, although there were few people gathered at tables. The bartender ended up waiting on us, but he had several jobs he was juggling. We ordered the El Olivo appetizer which was garlic bread baked in a clay pot. The garlic was not overpowering and there was either olives baked in or a very good olive oil used. Delicious. So was the Truffle Mac & Cheese. The truffle flavoring was not overpowering as is sometimes the case and the pasta used was perfect with the creamy sauce. The Electric Jellyfish IPA on tap from Pinthouse Brewery was excellent with a crisp and slightly tart fruitiness. However, the fried salmon sandwich was overcooked rendering the salmon almost inedible. The cook should have gone for golden brown rather than the dark brown crust that encased the salmon. The Porchetta was presented with a deep purple hued cabbage and apple slaw that was both beautiful and tasty. Unfortunately, the Porchetta was unevenly cooked and seasoned. Portions of it were tough and extremely salty. Other portions were adequate to good. All in all a mixed experience. If I recommended it to a friend, it would be with a warning about our main course dishes.

The was really good and the service was excellent, not form a technical standpoint, but from a hospitality and timing standpoint.

This was our first experience dining here and my parents and a few friends joined us. The space is very cool and the food was excellent. Literally everything we ordered came out and was superb. Our only negative experience was despite all over the menu and website stating “family style” and “shareable” they did not have any serving utensils to accompany the dishes. We also bought a few bottles of wine and found ourselves pouring them ourselves all night even though at one point we were the only table in the restaurant.
