Dorrego’s, is named for the famed Plaza Dorrego, a public square located in the historic San Telmo neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hotel Valencia Riverwalk draws inspiration from the rich culinary heritage of Argentina. He carries a rich history of many hotels and restaurants that brings a diverse culinary experience to our table. An extensive wine list will be a focal point for diners. The restaurant’s décor reflects the Spanish Colonial design and architectural heritage of Argentina, with a touch of Parisian bistro panache. Dorrego’s also features a new restaurant bar, and the welcoming space is ideal for gathering and lingering. Dorrego’s appealing terrace features additional seating topped with comfortable Spanish/Mediterranean-style cushions. The terrace features numerous planter pots, which blend the space into its tranquil River Walk setting.

The steaks were fantastic and so were the drinks. I had the strip while my wife had the tenderloin and both were excellent. The price is on par with other similar restaurants. The Strip I had here was much better than the 40 day dry aged tomahawk I had a Cured by comparison. Service was a little slow but they were full on a Wednesday night. I am sure we will be back.

Amazing steak and I mean AMAZING! Superb. We sat inside and it was nothing special, it looked like a hotel’s breakfast cafe…blah at best. But the food was excellent and priced fairly. I highly recommend

Its hard to find good restaurants attracted to hotels on the riverwalk. Microwave hot wings and the flame cheese bistro was terrible.

Food was great. Some of the best beef we’ve had. Five stars for the food, but our table reservation was messed up. Booked through Open Table, then walked in to make sure we had a table outside. They reserved table for us outside, but at the reservation time, we were told there were no outside tables available.

We arrived on a very busy evening with reservations and an extra person. They accommodated us none the less. The waiter was very patient with us and provided very good suggestions for sharable plates. The farmer salad was enjoyed by us as was the octopus salad. We shared the stew and empanadas with great results. My wife particularly enjoyed the flaky crust.

Food was not good at all for an Easter Brunch. One omelet station and only one Waffle station with only one waffle maker for so many people? We waited 25 minutes for a waffle. Dried up round chicken sausage, dry eggs, dried up ham, and you had to request pancakes if you didn’t want to wait in line for a waffle which also took forever. At $75 a person, the value or experience was not there.

The Easter Brunch had excellent breakfast options. The Lunch items weren’t that great, the chicken piccata and Glazed Easter Ham were very overcooked and dried. Charcuterie area was very dark and hard to see what was available.

Unfortunately a very poor experience for dinner. Host/server did not honor reservation time. They almost seated a party without reservation first. Thankfully the party heard when we checked in and they proceeded to inform the host/server. My date kindly asked if we could have a seat outside and the host/server said no right away without even looking. The party after us got seated outside. The service was just poor bringing us cold bread and not checking in on water. I expected more from Dorrego’s as my first time there was amazing. Note it was for lunch.

The service was great, the ambience was very nice as well. The food was okay, my $50 steak wasn’t worth it. I would definitely go back for the cocktails.

We were going to a show at the Majestic and wanted an early dinner before heading over there. We found Dorrego's online and decided to give it a try. We were very happy with our choice. We both had steaks, they were cooked to perfection (medium rare) and the sides were very good as well. I will not hesitate to eat here again!

Quaint, Latin themed & decorated Cafe style restaurant with outdoor patio seating with a decent menu selection of Breakfast & Brunch items. My wife and I were celebrating m my 68th birthday & had reservations for 9:00 AM on Saturday, Feb.23 rd, although, upon a being seated noticed quite a few empty tables available, and had to wait for a booth to be cleaned & set up for us! Our server Diana was was very nice and attentive even tho I did have to flag her down for coffee refills, I orders the Classic Eggs Benedict plate & my wife had the avocado toast platter & we both had breakfast potatoes for sides & took quite a while to arrive! The presentation of my plate left a lot to be desired, the potatoes were warm-ish, the poached eggs were small enough to be quail eggs and one was even missing its yolk, & the Hollandaise was not smooth and creamy but more of a paste consistency, whilst my wife’s multigrain toast was found to be very soggy underneath the avocado topping! We had a different server try to palm off two wrong breakfasts to us and when we informed her that they weren’t for us she later returned to our table and asked us if we were ready to order?… to which we informed her that we already had ordered 10-15 minutes earlier with our server! I was later surprised with a complimentary cup of Cafe Latte which was appreciated but if I’d known, or it was more timely, I would not have ordered (& drank 2 cups) the regular $5 coffee of the menu! The server said it was a substitute for a “Birthday Desert”!that they normally give, but thought it too early in the morning for a sweet desert!… then brought a large bowl of fruit & granola covered yogurt drizzled in honey for us both to share!… was a very nice gesture, but didn’t make up for the disappointing, high priced breakfasts! I brought up my dissatisfaction with our server, who was overly apologetic, asked us to speak with Bob the Mgr (who could not be found at the time), so we tipped our server and went on our way!

We always feel welcomed at Dorrego's. From the parking staff to the waiter, we are warmly greeted and they seem genuinely happy that we have arrived. On this visit, the steak was delicious! On other visits, I’ve enjoyed the Caesar salad with whole anchovy filets, the octopus salad and the beef empanadas.

When we got there we were greeted nicely and shown to our table. It took awhile but a waiter finally came and gave us two sample glasses of their house Malbec which was actually quite pleasant and that is what we drank. Again, it took awhile before he came back. We tried to order the empanadas but they were all out (go figure) so we ordered the flaming Parmesan which was pretty good. Another long wait and we ordered our entrees. My wife had a starter, the stew which was good. I ordered the beef tenderloin medium rare. It was a nice piece of meat but it came medium well. We were out of time by then so I at it and we left before trying any desert. We probably won’t go back.

Overall the experience was positive, had great service, drinks were good, food was okay. I had the chicken breast roasted potatoes and veggies. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the potatoes fell short. They weren’t hot, some were way undercooked and looked like they had been cooked way a head of the rest of the meal and then plated. My husband got a steak that was also good, sweet potatoes a bit undercooked. I guess for the price I’d expect things to be a bit more put together

Set menu at $100 per person, 5 course meal. We had to ask for the 1st item, and was told they had ran out, which is why we didn’t get it. No offer to comp, no apologies. Our particular server was meh but we did see other servers being enthusiastic about being there. Then we were told they ran out of lava cake for dessert which was something we were looking forward to. That was 2 out of 5 items on a SET menu at &100 PER PERSON. Once again, no apologies and didn’t give us opportunity to possibly substitute for something else. As we leave, I see two couples that had gotten there AFTER us, with lava cake. Food was good, place is very quiet and food was food. Won’t go back.

Our waitress seemed to not like her job.. she wasn’t rude… just not friendly. The food wasn’t bland and parts over cooked. The dessert and bread were very good. The valet at hotel was the best! Friendly and fast and very welcoming.

We had hoped to get an "Argentinian " themed experience. That was not the case. The waiter was friendly and helpful and they were able to accommodate us earlier since we got there well in advance of the reserved time. The wine list was extensive and we ordered the Malbec which was really good. Service was slow and I noticed that other customers were complaining to the manager. The food was slow to come out and sauces as described on the menu did not come out with it and the waiter had to go back and get them. That took some time while we sat around with the food getting cold. The steaks were done as requested. the "Fried" broccoli tasted like it was boiled. The chimichurri tasted like someone had mixed a bunch of uncooked chilli powder that just overwhelmed the freshness of teh other herbs and citrus. The sides were underwhelming. The Papas bravas were not crisp and the taste was overwhelmed by the taste of uncooked chilli powder. The regular potatoes on the side again were not crisp and the texture was more like someone had warmed up potatoes from before. The "Blue cheese" sauce tasted less of blue cheese and more like someone had made a cheddar cheese queso. Really not the kind of experience that I was looking forward to.

Somewhat disappointing - everything seemed to take longer than normal. In some respects, our own making, as we did not order meal as soon as drinks were delivered. Also, the fact that this was Christmas time in downtown San Antonio which is generally a zoo of people trying to hustle parking, meals and accommodations. Food was pretty good and we do recommend the Paella which had a lot of shrimp and was not very spicy - large enough to share.

The food was mediocre. The first steak they brought out, which was ordered medium-rare, was well-done. By the time they brought me a replacement steak, my entire family had finished eating. The server did a good job, and the atmosphere was above average, but it was not worth the price of the food.

Perfect spot for dinner before going to Majestic Theater. My chicken dish with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables was excellent, as was my husband's NY strip steak. The service was outstanding--friendly, helpful and prompt. The atmosphere is lovely--quiet enough to talk despite all tables occupied. The only disappointment was the crepe dessert with caramel paste inside.

Dorrego’s never disappoints! From the perfectly cooked meals to the impeccable service, it is a true high dining experience. I had the salmon, moist and served with a delicious citrus sauce. My daughter had a perfectly cooked steak. We shared dulce de leche crepes with banana mousse. All of it worthy if praise. Dorrego’s is one of our favorite go to places before seeing a show at the Majestic. We will be back very soon!

Overall great experience from the valet parking, to the sample wine once we were seated. Had the Farmers salad and the tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Will be back
