Don’s Favorite Foods is a prix-fixe restaurant created by husband and wife team Chef Don Salamone and Kate Laurents in partnership with Sommelier Adam Galbraith.
We also offer cocktails courtesy of Jeffrey Morgenthaler and Benjamin "Banjo" Amberg.

Our Italian and French-influenced menu changes monthly and highlights dishes Don grew up with as well as those he mastered though his experiences working at Michelin-starred restaurants all over the country.

From Don: At Don’s, you may find gnocchi like my Ma used to make or Italian sausage modeled after my Godfather’s, Oreste “Ernie” Capone. You might also find scallops still in their shells, Oregon pork in the style of Braciole, and popovers I learned to make from my mother-in-law, Terry, because the Laurents family makes those every Christmas morning... beef tartare, sea urchin, caviar, etc too. These things are all my favorites.

I have been on many dining adventures, including Michelin-starred, and this was outstanding amongst them. The menu was perfect for my tastes, and the quality of ingredients was top-notch. I loved the atmosphere and ambiance and the music was perfect for the vibe. Don't sleep on this quaint spot in Beaverton.

Great food, service and ambiance. Unlike other tasting menus we've had, we actually left the restaurant feeling full and very pleased. Love the teamwork between Don, his wife, Kate and Adam. Looking forward to coming back.

Don is a food artist. Everything we have had here has been wonderful. He prepares each entree individually with very fine ingredients. Don's is a small venue and expensive but worth it for a special dinner!

We celebrated my birthday at Don's. The food was FABULOUS . The service was perfect. I love having Don, the chef, come to the table to present the course. They added a wine paring option to experience the right wine with each course. Very enjoyable experience.

Had a really enjoyable meal at Don’s tonight. Enjoyed every item on the menu, especially the octopus and the braciole. Opted for the wine pairing which was fantastic. Went with the half glass option on the pairing, so we had cocktails to start the evening. Both Don and Adam were gracious hosts who made us feel very welcome. This is a very small restaurant, very cozy. I’m definitely returning!

A meal here is an experience. Excellent menu, skillfully prepared by a chef who is more than happy to discuss the details in as much detail as you care to listen to. It's a prix fixe, with a set menu, which very reasonably can't be altered much as it's a tiny kitchen, and a very low count of meals served each day. If it's not your bag, don't go, but if it is, it's special. I don't know if there's enough audience for this kind of experience in this area; I hope so. So many folks who spend $100 per person for a meal expect glitz and glamour. This lacks that. I like that. Not all will, but if you appreciate finely prepared meals, this is it.

Don’s Favorite Foods has a supper club vibe . The food is amazing and the corkage fee is only 20 dollars. It is worth the trip to downtown Beaverton to see what Don and Adam are up to!

Fantastic experience. We enjoyed the January menu, featuring clams casino with focaccia, housemade rigatoni alla vodka, and panzetta. All dishes were incredible-- my wife proclaimed the rigatoni the best pasta she's ever had. Don personally delivered and introduced each dish. We had fun breaking down the differences between the Rochester cassata cake he grew up on versus the style I knew from Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood. Don and Kate have built a warm, cozy place that definitely exudes a relaxed 70s vibe. Give me a Genny Cream Ale and I would have been right there in Rochester. We'll be back!

The January prix-fixe menu was a dream! Everything was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Love the intimate atmosphere and the feel of the entire establishment. Highly recommend getting the wine pairing with your meal. Could not have had a better experience. Our hearts and bellies were full!

What a magical night! Every course outdid the previous one. The service was warm and friendly. The food was outstanding. I’m still thinking about the rigatoni and the veal breast! A lovely, charming restaurant that we will definitely return to!!

We were thrilled about the addition of a meal that included their "famous" Eggplant Parmigiano. But as good as it was, it was surpassed by two other courses of our fixed course vegetarian meal. The experience here exceeds the quality of so many fine dining options. Every course was carefully plated, perfect temperature when it arrived at the table, good variety of tastes and textures. There is a lot of food but you can bring home any you can't finish and the portions felt right on. My favorites were the antipasti course and the "salad" 4th course but every single item was delicious. Warmly welcomed by staff.

Don and Co. shared an amazing dining experience for us - one we will remember. The menu was thoughtful, unique and delicious and we found ourselves adoring the interior design. Thank you to the chef, cooks and sommelier for having us.

Had a fabulous time. Don and Adam were welcoming. Atmosphere is great - feels like an intimate dinner party. Loved that Don introduced each course and took the time to talk with us multiple times during the evening. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and delightful.

This is a special place. Chef Don has the passion and skill to offer a meal that I don't think is matched anyplace in Portland. Because of the tiny size of the place, the menu is limited to a prix fixe set menu. There was nothing on the menu I would not want to eat again; all was wonderful. It's more like a private chef dining experience. If you need glitz, glamour and prestige, get your fill at Bell Pine while spending $30 just to park. If you want an experience shared with a chef who cares, this may be your special place. It's one of ours! The only thing I hope they add is a coffee maker. It would enhance desserts.

We loved the Feast of Seven Fishes dinner at Don's. Each course was meticuously prepared. Fresh ingedients shined with the fish being the star each time. The popover was light and had a nice crunch, a perfect vessel for the mountain of dungeness crab. The black bass crudo was so bright & had just the right Italian seasoning. The sea urchin & roe were sitting in a rich, custard broth. Wanted to sop it all up with extra brioche crisps. The salted cod fritter was perfectly fried. The three tiny bay scallops were presented in a tiny scallop shell with a nicely seasoned crunchy breadcrumb topping. The lobster pasta was just the right texture and a nice portion. The salad was so refreshing with the citrus & herbs. The dessert was a new take on a tiramisu type parfait. Every course was just the right portion size. Enjoyed the half glass wine pairing, each glass went so well with each course. Especially liked the Lambrusco. Already looking forward to our next meal with Don and his amazing staff.

We had such a wonderful time at Don's Favorite Foods. The space is very small, and intimate with only about 5 tables. It's decorated with a cozy 70's vibe. The service was fantastic. Just the right amount of attention - not too little and not too much. Don himself came to the table to tell us about each dish. Every dish was delicious. If I had to pick a standout, I'd say the pork dish was my fave. I'm pretty sure it was the best pork I've ever had. The flavor was fantastic. If I was at home, I would have gnawed every morsel of meat off of the bone. The only thing that may have been missing from that dish was some bread to mop up all the delicious au jus with. We literally wanted to lick our plates clean -- it was that good! The rum cake was delicious and truly completely soaked in rum. We loved everything about it. It was truly one of the best meal experiences that we've ever had. We'll definitely be back!
