Dong Hae Korean Grill and Sushi, in Minneapolis, serves up a huge menu of authentic Korean and Japanese dishes. Using classic recipes along with fresh ingredients and making everything to order, we can guarantee no matter what you order you'll enjoy it.

The signature menu is Korean bbq, we have grill on the tables, so you guys can grill by yourself and all the servers are happy to help. It comes with lettuce wrap, salad, chef special dipping sauce, side dishes, and rice.

We offer AYCE sushi and Korean all day long, including 31 Korean traditional dishes, 23 different specialty rolls, 13 nigiris and 6 sashimis. Don't forget to grab Korean popsicle for dessert.

Food and the experience of grilling your food is awesome! However I felt like being rushed to order, and almost done with my plate when server started taking away the plates, and including the side dishes.

The food was okay. We were very disappointed with the service. One member of our party never did get her dinner, despite two requests we made to employees to check on the status of her order. And the restaurant was not busy. We will not be return customers.

Food was solid, we only did sushi and bulgogi chicken and did not do the Korean BBQ, however many near us were. Understaffed so things were a little slow and we got our appetizer well after we got the rest of our meal. Will go back to try the BBQ and would recommend as we get staffing is a challenge.

The staff is very nice. The place is very clean and the chef is very precise and accurate. I never been a sushi fan but MonkeyBrain is a must have ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had never been to Dong Hae Korean Grill before but decided to check it out before a show at the Guthrie. It was fantastic. We had two people helping us and they were great. We had Soju for the first time and it was tasty and fun. We definitely be back. It was a little spendy but we thought well worth it. Give it a try.

We were there on an admittedly slow night (Friday, before a Guthrie show), so servers had ample time to assist us with the somewhat confusing menu. My wife wanted Korean beef BBQ flavors, but not the "full package"--an expensive affair where you grill the raw materials at the table yourself. They helped us pick out a couple of dishes from the regular menu and a popular appetizer, and we had an enjoyable, flavorful dinner for under $80 before tip. Young female server had time for some cheerful conversation with us as well.

Don’t get the all you can eat, especially since the bbq is not included. Sashimi came out in large chunks. Some sushi rolls had missing ingredients. Stick to only bbq if you go.

We went to Dong Hae several years ago at the former location and I was blown away by the food. We had someone to cook at the table for us and everything tasted incredible, from the sauces to the meat to the Bibimbap. I was very excited to go again at the new location. However, it wasn't as good as I remember; we had to do the cooking and, frankly, if I wasn't with someone who knew how to operate the stove and do the cooking, I would have been lost. It was fine, hence the 4 stars; in fact, someone there for the first time would be satisfied. I just wasn't as blown away as the first time.

Pros- staff was incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. Priced very reasonably. Cons- Not the fanciest place, our food was pushed out on a plastic cart and the room was freezing Overall it was a good experience, I would recommend.

Absolutely delicious!! We got the jalapeño poppers to start off and holy cow, they are so good. We went for sushi and my favorite roll was the Korean roll. Super yum! Great place, good vibes.

Good food once again. Very large portions. Service was good and food came out quickly due to not many people there on a Thursday evening. The restaurant itself needs repairs and a very, very good cleaning.

The staff was lovely and the restaurant was clean. We ordered the beef Korean barbecue set up. It came with some brisket that was shaved, but not seasoned. Some short ribs that were unseasoned and short ribs that were seasoned that were too tough to eat although the flavoring was good. There was also a sirloin steak. They had no seasoning, but tasted OK. We got the smaller meal. It only came with four leaves of lettuce and had no garlic which we asked for and Kim too late and time to cook down to eat with our meal. Again, the people working there were really wonderful but the meal was very bland and not normal for Korean barbecue.

The food and experience was absolutely fantastic! The restaurant was clean. The service was friendly. Towards the end it was hard to get our server's attention so we had to ask a different person for help however it really didn't diminish the experience very much. The staff very obviously loved their job and enjoyed interacting with customers.

I have a worst experience in this restaurant, they charge 18% service charge without provide us with any service at all. We order K-BBQ for my wife birthday dinner and end up to be her worst birthday dinner.

Server couldn’t answer any questions about serving size, how to operate the grill for the bbq, didn’t bring the sauce which is part of the bibimbap dish (my mother’s order on Mother’s day) and the appetizer came out after the main courses were brought out. They will tell you the $85 small bbq order is for 3 people to get you to order the large. But the small easily feeds 4-5 people. The meat wasn’t seasoned well/enough so beef was very non descript. Automatic 18% tip for our party of five. Sad because not many options for Korean food in town and I’ve tried to give them multiple chances but this is the same experience again and again, which is why you don’t see many Koreans eating here.

Extremely expensive vs what it was at the beginning of the year. Was charged $40 for both of my kids to eat with us (ages 3 and 4) the most we’ve ever been charged anywhere, including FOGO and other AYCE places. For 2 adults and the 2 kids it was $170 plus gratuity was included. It took 15 min to take a drink order. They didn’t have anything for kids to drink aside from lemonade.

Party of five - 3 adults and 2 kids. We had the Special BQ. A large combination of pork and beef. Five really tiny sides. Included rice for 4 people. We paid an extra $5 extra for 5 extra plain old mushrooms . We paid extra for one more bowl of rice. Extra for drinks. The cost was about $283 with tip. There were only a hand full of other customers. A lot of staff not particularly helpful or welcoming. Other then turning on the grill, it was a diy event. The meat was good, but I doubt I'd be back to pay that much for one meal. It didn't feel very special. We've had better Korean bq experiences at other restaurants.

Service was terrible it took over 2 hours to get sushi and a pop. Our meal was disrupted by a man that appeared to be mentally unstable and unable to pay for his soda which in turn caused a scene during our dinner. Would not recommend

Tables, seats and dish-ware were dirty. Felt uncomfortable eating and feeling things were hygienic and safe.

Korean dishes were very tasty. Sushi rice was a bit dry. Overall, left full and satisfied!

Made reservation, sat late. Food came sporadically so no one was able to eat together. Slow service, had to basically wait on ourselves. Food wasn’t great, low quality ingredients. Won’t be back

Went on a Monday evening (mostly empty, which may be why it was quiet). Had been before at their prior location. Ordered the large beef combo Korean BBQ (for 3 of us). General comments: service was good, food was good -- brisket and ribeye particularly so, also excellent Mandu. The rest was a bit weaker -- limited banchan and weak on the sauces. Disappointing that they charged for banchan refills (though only $1, very odd to deliver a tiny portion for 3 people and then charge). Overall, a good experience; worth repeating but not comparable to the better korean BBQs I've been to in other cities.

Overall needs a refresh or remodel. The KBBQ was good but on moveable tables with cords at your feet. Seems cheap

Nice place, friendly staff, food is decent but way over priced. It costs more than double the price of a 5 stars restaurant and it isn’t even a 4 stars one.
