All aboard the Dolly Varden. We are a two story cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen. The “Bar Car” will specializes in shared plates and experiential cocktails. The second floor “Dolly’s Club” will offer playful twists on classic American fare such as our Saigon wings, truffle mac and cheese and our Rail Car burger. Join us for the spirited adventure at Dolly Varden.

Excellent food, great ambiance, nice hostesses, mediocre waiter. He didn’t give us much time nor attention, (which we barely needed, just some more water & the check?!).

If you want something fun & close to Time Square (but tucked away from the chaos), the Dolly Varden is perfect. The red train car for outdoor seating was super fun. The staff were kind and helpful and added to the joyful atmosphere before heading to see “Illinoise” on broadway. The food was super tasty. Didn’t love the cocktail I ordered since it was too sweet. Will definitely return the next time we are in town.

Excellent service. Generous wine pours and mixed drinks. Food was enjoyable. The only suggestion would be to offer lattes post dinner.

Came here for the second time for brunch and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time! The ambiance is elevated, dark, and moody. We started with the rum punch which is not the traditional color of rum punch I'm used to but so so good! We had the pork belly baos which were flavorful but my bao bun got stuck to the paper/basket and ended up tearing apart completely. It also needed some spice, such as sriracha or spicy mayo to complement the sweet and savory flavors. For our entrees we had the breakfast tots and chicken and waffles. This was my first time trying to breakfast tots and they were the crispiest, most delicious tater tots I've had. The chicken and waffles were delish as usual. It comes with a cheddar jalapeño waffle but it didn't really taste spicy at all. Still delicious nonetheless. My friend and I ended up splitting both our entrees which was perfect because the breakfast tots feels more like a side dish. Thanks DV for consistent good food, I'll be back!

Very nice spot for brunch. I chose this place when I discovered that Peachy Keen went out of business, which was an awesome brunch place. This is their sister restaurant apparently. So, I expected the food to be good, which it was. So many restaurants now are doing brunch but with really lackluster and unimaginative menus. I like going to places that serve up traditional brunch fare but put a creative or unique twist on it. After all, why pay to go to brunch and eat scrambled eggs that you can just as easily make at home? The menu here has brunch standards like chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict and steak and eggs, but also offers unique options like Captain Crunch French Toast, pork belly bao buns and a lemon poppyseed waffle. I ate the grilled BEC, which was delicious. It was on thick grilled brioche bread with candied bacon, fried egg and copious amounts of melted cheese. The side of spicy tomato sauce was a nice addition to dip the corners of the bread into. The sandwich was huge and I had a hard time finishing it. We ate on the second floor, which was nicely decorated but a little bit noisy and dimly lit (although we were seated in the back corner away from the windows). I will probably try to sit in the outdoor area next time. Service was efficient and pleasant…no complaints there. Cocktails were also very good, but priced at the usual NYC premium. It’s not a cheap brunch—we spent $42 per person for a main entrée and one cocktail each including tip and tax. However, that’s quite typical for a Manhattan brunch (even the bad ones!) and given the quality of the food, I would say it’s deserved. Overall, our group of 6 was happy with the experience, so this place will definitely go into my shortlist of go-to brunch places.

We sat outside, the booths are comfortable, if a little dusty. I enjoyed the brunch we ordered. Truffle fries are great! Our waitress was awesome, we were catching up with friends from out of town and we didn't feel rushed to leave. Such a pleasant place for the area.
