Food and service were excellent! I went with a group of 4 and we got to sit in a booth in the corner of the restaurant which was a bit quieter. We each ordered a different item off the menu so try out a bit of everything. We especially enjoyed the eggs with sujuk which had an excellent burst of flavor to it. The eggs benedict were also excellent! Hungry man was nothing to scoff at and we had a hard time finishing it since there was so much food. We also had the chicken and waffles which we split up; it's excellent with the honey glaze on the side.

Overall, the experience at District 118 Kitchen and Bar was very good. Food was excellent, service was very attentive and I really like the ambiance of the bar.

What Happened??? We have visited District 118 numerous times in the past couple of years, and the place has always been packed, with great food and excellent service. Last night (Sun 4/28/2024), however, it was as if we were in an episode of Restaurant Impossible: the place was nearly empty, our waitress was sweet but seemed hapless and completely untrained, and the food ranged from mediocre to lousy. The extra-dry martini tasted like it was half vermouth, featured olives with pits, and we were charged $3.00 extra for a “dirty” martini. The fish tacos were so drenched in sauce that my wife couldn’t eat them. My fish and chips and sweet potato fries were over-fried. The $37 Scallops Elote were ok, but came with just 4 relatively small scallops. We are still shaking our heads wondering what happened…?

My friend had the salmon burger and really liked it. I ordered the Cajun chicken and brie sandwich. My chicken was a little too well done. However our server was excellent and the ambience is great. I probably just wouldn’t get a chicken sandwich again, but I would go there again.
