Owners Luis Raga and Raul Aguilera brings you their vision of a casual bar/restaurant in Spain: a fun and unpretentious spot to gather friends, family, or dates. We bring you flavors from all over Spain, the concept is tapas and paellas to be shared at the table. You'll see dishes come on and off the menu often and while we offer a broad selection of dishes, due to our small kitchen, certain tapas will run out during the service. Don’t miss our Happy hour Mon-Fri 5-6pm ONLY on BAR & HIGH TOPS for heavily discounted tapas and drinks.
Also, make sure to check our back patio, it will transport you to a warm summer night of the south of Spain.
If driving street parking could be tricky, check out the SF general hospital parking structure just 2 blocks away from the restaurant. If coming from the East Bay or Peninsula location is just a few blocks from the freeway (exit Cesar Chavez/Potrero on the 80 freeway). The nearest Bart station is at Potrero & 24th, a 15-minute walk.

Our meatballs came out cold, server forgot to put in the order for our salad, paella was delicious. I don't know if I'd take the effort to return.

Plus' include that the service was very prompt and friendly at Destapas. Negatives were that their prices are higher than Picaro and Esperanto, and their Paella ($36) was served to us underdone. The second time around, it wasn't that much softer, but we ate some of it because we were hungry. They charged 4 $ four a little basket of bread. We will not be returning.

What a find. Was going to the Brava Theater and wanted a place close. From the minute we walked in we felt welcomed. Food was great, staff was great. Can't wait to come again.

The albondigas & paella were delicious! Red wine paired well. Not enough vegetables on the Paella Valenciana. Secret to an excellent paella is the rice & flavors. They were excellent! Compliments to the Chef! The dessert, almond torte with pistachio ice cream, a dream come true! Paired well with expresso and an americano. Very convenient to those attending a show at The Brava Theater.

Took my 3 exchange students from Spain before their prom. The staff was so welcoming and kind and it was so sweet watching them connect with the food and language. They were treated like celebrities 😍 One of the staff even put some cologne on them to get them all ready for prom. All the food was delicious and all three from Madrid & Iberia said the food was delicious, well cooked and authentic. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience over all. We will be back!!

This is a lovely restaurant. We ate tapas and they were all delicious , though the sauces were a bit repetitive. The staff were very accommodating to our needs and even offered to delete a dish when we realized we had over-ordered. We ate on the patio which is really pretty, covered and so well heated that we removed our coats. Out there the volume was moderate and it was very easy to talk. Inside the restaurant it was very, very noisy. SO, if you want conversation, sit outside

Had a great meal here last night - paella was fantastic, as were all the tapas we tried. Strong recommend!

Everything was delicious- especially the deviled eggs, pulpo a la plancha and the house vermouth. Will definitely be back!
