Descanso is a modern taqueria in that it celebrates authentic Mexican flavors and recipes executed in a lively setting that brings in the smells, sounds and energy of a busy Mexican town.

We just love Descanso. Been a go to for our family for 5 years . Choriqueso verde, Alambres, Margaritas, service always friendly and attentive, live music, great kids food (our 8 year old loves Descanso.

Great music and the inside standard table seating area had a nice vibe. Tacos, margaritas and guac and chips were tasty but a tad pricey. Went on a Sunday evening. Service was good. We plan to go back next time during Happy Hour.

Great food, excellent service, and great atmosphere. Really enjoyed the evening. My recommendation is that the salsa that they serve with the chips and salsa could be different and perhaps better. The staff there was fantastic. Made our evening, fun and enjoyable.

They have just one waiter for all the tables before 6. No complaints against the waiter but one star for the management. Simply by trying to save money, they now lost a continuous customer due to poor service.

So I have been seeing the videos of this place pop up on my social Media all the time making it look so amazing and fancy and was so intrigued and excited to go and dine here. I made reservations for brunch on Memorial weekend and took servals family members in the hopes that it’s worth the 30 minute drive from Laguna Once arrived I realized the location was in a terrible cheap shopping center Secondly this place is super casual and not some fancy Mexican restaurant as their prices are so high and make you believe it’s some fine dining Then the service was SUPER slow and forgot several things we ordered. Even though the place was literally empty, I was surprised I even had to make reservations Then the food. We were 7 people. And ordered different dishes While the taste was ok. It was once again NOT worth the the prices nor the drive They false advertise and make this place look all fancy and the food look good but the portions are super small and the food is actually below average Honest truth. Form someone who loves good food.

Since it was raining, the host/hostess gave priority indoor dining seating to the outside dining reservations instead of honoring our reservation for indoor first. They tried to give us taco bar seating which we didn’t want, nor did we reserve that, and then sat us at a dining table but limited us to an hour for a bigger party to use which never showed up. They tried to tell us that everyone else made reservations weeks prior to ours and that we were the ones that were at the bottom of priority list. For our first time dining here, I will not be going back, even though my salmon salad and cocktails were quite delicious and the waitress was super nice. Everyone else in my party didn’t care for their food.

Food is always excellent, but we got pozole to go and the size of the container couldn’t be any smaller.
