DENIZ’s menu is vaired and features plenty of seafood, pasta, and shrimp selections in addition to traditional lamb and kebabs marinated in spacial spices and prepared on an open grill. Be sure to save room for one of our desserts or drinks at our full bar as they are the perfect and to any meal including baklava and banana halva pie.
We are located on the east side of downtown Brooklyn, New York. The service is well regarded as warm and friendly. Interior design of our restaurant is inviting whenever you want to enjoy a good meal or for your special occasion private parties up to 100 people and our authentic decor throughout the restaurant makes. The lentil purée soup was just OK, followed by over fried tasteless calamari and a very mediocre version of their stuffed cabbage. The only reason we went here in the first place is proximity to BAM and we won’t return

Deniz is terrific! It has a neighborhood restaurant vibe, delicious food and lovely service. We found it because we were looking for somewhere close to BAM and have made it our go-to place for before theater. The salads are flavorful and fresh; the kebobs plentiful and tasty and we loved the appetizers, with a special shout-out for the eggplant salad.

My friend and I were very pleased to find Deniz. Although there are a number of restaurants in the area, Deniz looked warm and comfortable. The atmosphere and food matched our first impressions. We shared delicious hummus and a rolled fried phyllo appetizer. I had the lamb shawarma which was excellent and served with fries and a beautifully dressed house salad. Although, I love middle eastern desserts I couldn’t pass up the lava cake. It did not disappoint. I’ve eaten these across the city and around the world. Sincerely this was one of the best!

I have been going to Deniz for years and it never disappoints. A great choice for a pre or post BAM performance meal. The bronzino is a favorite. Loved my blood orange gimlet. All of the dips are good.

We’ve frequented this restaurant several times and know how fantastic Turkish cuisine can be. Unfortunately during our last visit the food was not up to par. We were served over cooked and one dish of unappetizing fish. Although the service was typically friendly and attentive, on the food front this long-standing Fort Greene establishment was surprisingly disappointing.
