What Dear John’s is to steak, Dear Jane’s will be to seafood. Seasoned chefs and entrepreneurs Hans Röckenwagner and Josiah Citrin have teamed up again for Dear Jane's. Taking full advantage of the stunning marina view, the focus is on classic American seafood dishes prepared simply with the highest-quality ingredients by seasoned chefs. From Oysters Rockefeller to Shrimp Louie, Surf ‘n Turf and Crepes Zuzette, the menu hews to those of some of the most legendary seafood restaurants of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. It will feel familiar and upscale, yet updated and approachable.

This sensibility will be on full display with hand-mixed tartare, classic caviar service, and professionally fileted whole fish. The layout of the split-level room and spacing between booths and tables are ideal for this personalized service that is begging to come back in style in this dining room.

Hospitality upon arrival was awesome! Marina view matches the great brunch food selection. Everything was amazing! Totally blown away. Happy I kept seeing this spot recommended everywhere…. and close to home is icing on the cake. The lemon mascarpone pancakes, filet steak, golden potatoes, eggs cooked just right, crispy bacon, omelette, bottomless mimosas!!!! WEWWOWWWW!!! Can’t wait to try dinner and the hubby location…Dear John’s in Culver City!!! BTW, it’s the old Chart House location in MDR. 😃

We had a party of six, and the table was ready when we arrived. They had very few waitresses on duty, and the service was slow. The food was mediocre at best. I had a cheese omelette that wasn’t fully cooked. Yuck❗️ I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The view was fabulous, but we were also there for the food. Sorry…

Very nice staff and service! I felt that the musice was louder than it needed to be. The table we were at was on the large side and it made conversation challenging. Food was great! Mimosas really yummy!! I will be back.

First off the ambiance is beautiful but their menu lacks.We arrived on Sunday for brunch at 11:45 that sorted at 11:00 to be told they’re out of gluten free pancakes and no egg whites? But they had eggs? The Bloody Mary is $20 and not worth $5.00..Brought me an omelet with sun dried tomatoes when on the menu doesn’t mention tomatoes as I’m allergic to them..Told the server and he acted like nothing happened..Don’t recommend

Six for dinner. Inviting place. Warm, friendly staff. Our waiter Grace was lovely, attentive and helpful with menu selections. There wasn't a miss on any of the appetizer or entree items including quality, preparation, temperature, or amount of food. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, albeit a bit on the pricey side, but then again, it is Marina del Rey!

Beautiful Food and service…not really down for toddlers cruising the dining room and having meltdowns. ..but that’s how it is with parents of 2 to 4 year olds 2024 apparently. Otherwise, a great evening.

The food was sub par at best. The yellowtail crudo was drowned in a weird sauce that really di not compliment the fish. The beat salad was weak and blend. The Lobster pasta was the worst of all. The pasta looked like a bowl of maggots. What is with the breadcrums and the mistifiying butter marscoponi blob ? I thught I was at Cheesecake Factory. Someone has to talk to the chef and tell him to taste the Lobster pasta at Citrin, maybe he will learn something. I dined here about 8 month ago and had no complaints since the food is almost inedible definitely at the standard of the executive chefs associated with this establishment. Very disappointed.

Always love eating here - both the intimate bar setting and the water-side table, as well as the delicious and unique dishes and attentive service. Can't wait to get back there!
