Billed as a modern Southern steakhouse, Deacon’s New South will feature a prominent dry-aging room and an exposed kitchen setting with a wood fire grill, as well as two bars, an eclectic lounge and a private area that can be reserved for large parties. Though it was built in the 1950s, the building’s art-deco influences — such as brass and copper details and bold architectural patterns — will be incorporated into the sleek, industrial design of Deacon’s.

Loved this restaurant! Service, atmosphere was perfect, classy. Only disappointment was my steak. In a steakhouse, that was a surprise. My NY strip was extremely sinewy, like a simple poor cut of meat. Taste was terrific, wife's meal outstanding. Service was delightful. Sides were delicious. Just wished my main dish was better.

Slowly becoming my favorite Nashville restaurant. I brought a party of 4 last night. The food, drinks and wine were awesome. My only negative thought is the cocktails are a bit too small. But now to the best part, Liam!Probably the best server we’ve had in a Nashville restaurant in as far back as I can remember. Tip: You go to Deacon’s, ask to get Liam , even if you have to wait for a few. And speaking of Tips, I should have left more now that I think about it, I’ll catch you next time , and hopefully that will be soon!

Hostess that seated us ended up waiting on us due to our waiter being too busy. Crawfish hush puppies were pretty good. Other than that steaks were below average and the rest of the food wasn’t great. Not worth the price point at all.

Excellent service / waiter (Liam) but he was overloaded. Food quality , steak, sides, wine list all great … BUT .. if you promote the largest dry aging cooler and sell 70 dollar filets… then serve them sizzling on a hot plate. We shared the 9oz filet .. but they insist on halving and slicing in kitchen like a London broil. I should have insisted on the whole hot filet to the table. No way a sliced filet on a cold plate will not be room temperature.. The Waiter and hostess provided comp desserts to their credit. But hope steak chef will correct this temp / presentation issue.

Poor wine selection. All four steaks/different types all way over cooked...ordered medium/rare and all came out well dry. Carrot Cake was good and the shrimp app had great sauce.

We dined here before hitting broadway and it was great. We shared a porterhouse between 3 of us, an app, sides and bottle of wine. Service was wonderful and even though our brussels were a bit late to hit the table the recovery of a slice of cake was unexpected but very enjoyed. From the hostess to food runner everything was top notch

2 of us ordered steak freite and 1 New York steak. The steak freite, 1 was under cooked and they re-fired it but both were chewy. The NY was cooked as requested but tough. We had a fantastic waiter. For nearly $250 of meat the 3 of us left disappointed. Considering this was my nephew's favorite restaurant he was overly apologetic.

When visiting Nashville with two other couples we decided to try Deacon’s based on location and a lot of positive reviews. While our server was friendly and fun, we waited for long periods to place orders and receive drinks and food. They were unable to make a signature cocktail that several of us wanted to try and they were out of mushrooms as a side dish. Four of the five steaks ordered were not prepared properly and had to be sent back. Also the quality of the beef was not that good. And this is supposed to be a steakhouse! The spicy crawfish noodles were okay but not outstanding. Some of the sides were good as was the kale salad and they did comp us biscuits, but overall a disappointment for the prices we paid.

This was our first time dining here, and we were really wanting an exceptional steak- and we got it! We were able to be seated with a last minute reservation, which was nice. We shared a delicious bottle of Napa valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015, that was affordably priced. We had fried green tomatoes, we each had the dry aged ribeye with bone marrow crust, and shared grilled mushrooms. I would do all of this again!

We had a birthday party for a co-worker here and had the best time! Our food was amazing and the service was even better. I also loved the relaxed industrial vibe. I will definitely be back :)

It's a great place but proximate parking is very crowded and over the top expensive. They do not validate nor valet. Plan accordingly

Food was very good. Would have liked some more food selections. Mushroom appetizer was decent, not great. Would not get that again. They used to have a charcuterie board that was amazing, but they have not had that in a while now.

Exceptional salads, however, we went there for steak, which was very disappointing. Both our steaks were incredibly rare and too salty. We barely ate the meat, and interestingly, our waiter did not comment on us leaving with so much food left on our plates.

The was good as my wife’s chicken was good as well as my steak. The only thing I did not like was the steak was nearly burnt instead of being seared. The service was extremely poor as it took nearly 10 minutes for a server to approach us. He took our drink and appetizer orders and then brought the drinks about 10 minutes later. He then took our entree orders.He did stop by later see if our dinners were ok. He never offered us any specials or see if we wanted another drink. He then returned with the check and never offered dessert to us.

We had a wonderful experience here! The service was truly outstanding and the food and cocktails were some of the best I’ve had. I strongly recommend the steak frites, shrimp appetizer, and key lime pie. Our server, Will, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. He also created custom mocktails for non-drinkers in our group that were visually stunning and complex. I would love to visit again next time I’m in Nashville.

This was our third time to eat here and it did not disappoint. Service is always stellar and the steaks are amazing! This time I ordered the Salmon special and loved it! It was our wedding anniversary and we were sent home with a complimentary piece of chocolate cake - yum!!!

Food was exceptional. The fillet cut like butter and melted in your mouth. The staff are also exceptional in their professionalism and friendliness. We went two nights in a row and had an amazing time. Our next trip to Nashville will just be to eat here.
