    Obviously something is changing in this restaurant two of the wait staff I just spoke no English was so little English they totally messed up our order when they did correctly order it was actually terrible it was supposed to be a big chicken meatball dish with no taste there are things in the dish not mentioned in the menu it was tasteless

    We went for Mother’s Day dinner, so not surprised that it was louder in there. Food was very good. I was happy with everything we ordered. My only real complaint is about the service. Our waiter was very friendly but it was impossible to get his attention if we needed something. On two separate occasions, we tried to flag down another server who was carrying a water pitcher to get more water for my children and it almost seemed like they were ignoring us. I don’t believe they actually were, more likely they were distracted, but we were laughing at our table at just how difficult it was to get something like water. We found the same issue when we tried to get our bill. It took multiple attempts to get the waiter’s attention and took somewhere around 10 minutes from the first time we tried to when he finally acknowledged what we were asking for. I’ve worked restaurants before so I believe generally pretty patient and understanding, but this was noteworthy. I’d give them another shot as I know that holidays can be tough, but it was definitely not a great first impression.

    As soon as we entered we were welcomed with a warm smile. Our server was friendly and attentive. They bring freshly baked garlic breadsticks to the table. The menu is extensive with many entrees that I have not seen before. Nice drink and wine list. We started with baked clams and fried calamari that was tender and crispy. All of our entrees were delicious! We ended with a slice of Italian cheesecake. We will definitely return to this hidden gem.

    Davinci's Italian restaurant in Island Park is the best experience we had: delicious food and amazing ambiance. Service was quick—very welcoming staff. Will recommend it to everyone and we are looking forward to visiting Davinci's again.
