David Burke Tavern is a modern American restaurant by award-winning Celebrity Chef David Burke. Situated on the first two stories of a stately townhouse on New York City’s Upper East Side, the restaurant showcases Burke’s creative and contemporary approach to classic fare – often with showstopping presentations. Signature dishes highlight seafood, steakhouse staples and beyond, including Lobster Dumplings with spicy tomato, Crab Cake Pretzel Raft, Tavern Cheeseburger, and Burke’s famous “Clothesline” Maple & Black Pepper Candied Bacon, plus a full SUSHI MENU. David Burke Tavern offers dinner, bar and lounge menus, as well as multiple private dining spaces including the intimate Himalayan Salt Room lined with pink sea salt bricks. Private dining spaces can accommodate anywhere from 10-100 guests, with options to reserve floors and the full restaurant.

Had brunch which was price fixed - food was not good and service was terrible. it took over an hour to receive our appetizer then the main course was brought out at different times and not served at the sams time. place was also very run down for the price

We dined at the restaurant with friends. The food, service and ambiance would have rated four to five stars. Unfortunately, our experience was severely marred by the chef’s disturbing response to one of our guests who had special dietary requirements. Our friend had recently undergone oral surgery and was restricted to soft, preferably puréed, foods. He called the restaurant in advance to make sure that this would not be a problem and was assured that he could be accommodated. This, unfortunately did not prove to be the case. Our guest requested that the roasted carrots on the menu be puréed and Serge, our server, said that he would pass that on to the chef. When the food arrived the carrots were not pureed, in fact, they were turned into a kind of compote with elements that were very hard for our friend to chew. He had to pick through the dish to find the soft carrots. Serge was most apologetic but indicated that the compote was what the chef insisted upon. You can imagine our disappointment when the meals ordered by the rest of us contained a variety of puréed vegetables. Why wouldn’t the chef show some sensitivity and offer to prepare a plate for our friend that would meet his needs? All-in-all, the food was first rate and kudos go to Serge who was a real gentleman through it all.

We celebrated our first Anniversary, at the place where we had our first date. Beautiful experience… Perfect food! Definitely, we want to go again!

AMAZING PRIX FIXE. We had the kale salad and salmon both were delicious and the portions were extremely generous. We will be back!!

Actually a very nice evening but the food seemed a bit less than amazing - the ingredients were top notch but the combinations were somewhat strange Vegetables in a burrata salad were bit underdone Needed a bit more flavor or spicing in some of the dishes - especially the scallops Drinks were ok but also quite conventional Overall a decent place and high quality but not really going to impress foodies

I hadn't been to DBT in years and was shocked to find it in its current state. The waiter was surly (after we waited quite awhile, we got his attention and he yelled at us, "Give me a minute"). My friend ordered salad as his side, but the waiter brought (soggy!) French fries. The food was expensive and not good. My quinoa salad had hard (undercooked) quinoa and one of the main "veggies" was a mound of raw red onions. The "music" (awful old-time pop songs...totally wrong for the elegant space) was being blared; we asked for it to be turned down, which they did. I had chosen the restaurant for a celebration with my friend. I was embarrassed by my choice!
