Darling’s is a fresh pasta eatery in East London. Overlooking Olympic Park, the eatery is a hidden gem in Fish Island where the industrial and creative spaces converge. Roman Road, Bow, Hackney Wick and Victoria Park are just a stroll away from your weekly treat of freshly made pasta and wine from independent producers.

Egle Loit, a trained pasta chef, has previously popped up mostly around East and North London, creating a buzz with her pre-restaurant residency at Vestry House Museum in 2023.

Founder of Darling’s cares dearly about the craft that fresh pasta making requires. “One can turn humble ingredients into abundance with skill,” shares the restaurateur.

Darling’s is designed to be an open space to be shared between the guests and the team, therefore there are no barriers between the service area and the dining area. You’ll find yourself connecting by enjoying your meal at the shared table. Those, who like to hide away, can still do it at separate tables.

You’ll learn how to make fresh pasta using just flour and water with exciting sauces at home without needing any specific equipment. More than anything, you’ll spend 3 hours on a relaxed afternoon or evening creating & eating pasta by hand and making some new friends along the way . I have reasons to believe that fresh pasta making could become your new favourite form of self-care. It’s just so meditative. The pasta you have made, will be served as a dinner with a couple of different sauces ( Vegan/vegetarian options available) at a set table. This will be so wholesome! We will also be tasting through some fantastic wines from all over Italy with with our wine expert on hand to guide us throughout.

Superb Italian food in a beautiful, relaxed environment. The starters were the highlight; especially the burrata with honey and truffle and the brown butter and walnut ricotta. Pasta was cooked to perfection. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

My partner and I had a lovely dinner at Darlings. The space is super cute and very welcoming (if a little out of the way - Lime Bike is your easiest way to get there). Everything we ate was delicious - aubergine fritters, pasta and the tiramisu is to die for! Portion sizes are sensible. Overall we had a great time but what was slightly lacking was the service. Staff were friendly, but not watching the tables or as attentive as they should be. You shouldn't have to wave at staff erratically to order extra drinks or pay your bill. It would also be helpful if the staff were a bit more familiar with the wine list. It is still early days and a new restaurant in town so hopefully the team will improve the service as they find their rhythm.
