Bienvenue au CUCINA urbana, un restaurant de quartier italo-américain avec boutique de vin. Il vous accueille dans un cadre décontracté, au cœur de Bankers Hill. Son menu met en évidence les cuisines de différentes régions d'Italie agrémentées de sa fameuse touche californienne distincte à base de produits de la ferme à la table, qui a fait la réputation de l'Urban Kitchen Group. Le chef Joe Magnanelli est heureux de partager son héritage italien et de concocter des plats frais, simples et de saison, notamment des antipasti, des pizzas traditionnelles, des pâtes et des piatti. Vous pourrez déguster du vin au verre ou découvrir la boutique de vin et choisir une bouteille parmi plus de 100 références au prix de détail (un droit de bouchon de 8 USD s'applique). The drinks were fabulous I had the lavender 75 and it was beautifully presented then had the salad which was excellent. We also had the warm olives and they were bursting with flavor. I must say the chicken Milanese was a little tough though., but had great taste. The side dishes were very flavorful.

50 Characters?! …that seems like a lot. well, first of all our server Kevin S was fantastic. Kevin was truly excellent at his job. This was a special date night dinner with my girl and she was clearly impressed with your restaurant.

The food and service was excellent! They offer wholesale prices in wine at the restaurant so we got a 1 liter bottle of Caymus for under $100. I can’t wait to go back!

The squash blossom appetizer and burrata pizza were excellent. The chicken milanese entree - not so much. Service was excellent, too. Would return - just don’t order the chicken.

Although we were a bit skeptical when we were brought to our sidewalk table ~ we had absolutely no reason to be. Robert greeted us warmly, made us feel like family, and provided a fantastic meal and evening. The food was delicious, Robert and his cohort (very kind young man) did everything right. We’re so glad we chose this restaurant to celebrate Ron’s birthday. Everything was a standout - the warm olives, the carrots, the Brussels sprouts and the pizza. And the limoncello dessert topped off the meal perfectly. Yummy!! Make a reservation and go enjoy a delightful meal.

Food and service were good. I really don’t understand the 3-4% surcharge (hidden in fine print) and request for 25%~30% tip after recent pay raise to $20/hr. Doesn’t make sense…

Our party of four enjoyed great service and delicious food for an evening meal at Cucina Urbana. Our server was Sarah, and she was attentive and gave good suggestions for our meal and wine choices. Everyone loved all our meal items and the rosé wine. The acoustics in the restaurant are not very good, and the restaurant was almost completely full of talking people, so it was very difficult to enjoy a conversation during our meal. I would still recommend this restaurant and would return because the food and service were outstanding.

Honestly stumbled upon it while visiting in San Diego and what a fantastic surprise! Blown away by how amazing all of it was! ALL OF IT! Defiantly be back if I’m ever in San Diego

We enjoyed the free shuttle to the Old Globe. The staff was very helpful. Sunday night they don't charge a corkage fee for their open bottles. All great features!

Cucina Urbana impressed with fantastic pasta! Both the rigatoni and bugattini dishes I tried were incredible. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!

It was a beautiful place and the service was fast and great my waitress was sara(h) and she was very nice and helpful there was even a bus boy named George who would clear our dishes less than 2 minutes after we would finish highly suggest the polmato and the meatballs

Food was very good. The place is nice but the noise was very loud. Our server Kevin was amazing! Definitely would come back. But probably sit out side because of the noise

Hit horrible traffic and we were running very late. The service was so quick and got us in and out so we could still make our show. So understanding and flexible.

The food was good nothing special, or worth noting that would come back for other than the dessert, The Lemonchello Tarte was beyond delicious and dare I say a heavenly experience. The price was lil high for the quantity that was offered, especially on the appetizers. Overall good place, nice vibes and good service.

Sat outside on the patio which was nice and quiet. We could actually have a conversation without yelling and leaning in (indoor seating). Only downside is it was so so cold. Wish the have electric heaters hanging from above, or enclosed better.

Lovely venue close to Balboa Park and The Old Globe Theater which is why we chose it. Wine list is quite substantial. Two of us ordered the special steak selection which came out at room temperature which was very disappointing. We sent them back to be put under heat lamps and they came back warm and delicious. Our third diner had the burger which came out perfectly fine although she sent her wine selection back saying it was old. Her second selection was fine. Hits and misses, but that being said, we’d go back and try again. This restaurant does tag on a “service charge” (I believe it was 3.5%). Just a heads up for all of you!

The place is too noisy, the price is too high for the quality and the flavor. The chicken main course taste terrible and was super dry and hard on the outside the knife didn’t cut it. Also sesame burned taste.

We went there with our son who was in town for a business trip. The food and service was excellent. The waiter worked with my son to get a great bottle of wine to compliment our meal. I highly recommend this place.

Great service and great food. My wife and I shared the meatball appetizer, focaccia bread, and the rigatoni. Meatballs (3)were good and the sauce was spicy as noted on menu. We requested the sauce in the side and it came along with polenta in separate bowl. Sauce was not too spicy for me but was for my wife. The focaccia bread was freshly made and was good with a touch of lemon flavor, finally the rigatoni was good with good tasting meats. Staff was very friendly.

Made a reservation weeks ago and was so looking forward to it, but saying I'm disappointed doesn't even cut it. Here I am, 9 months pregnant, and they tried to seat us outside in the middle of a cold storm. Asked them if we could possibly sit inside because of the weather, but got a hard 'no' without a shred of empathy. We even tried to explain that I'm 9 months pregnant and they didn't care. They had heater outside, but sat us at the one table that heater didn't work. The host? Full of attitude right from the get-go. They left us out in the cold like it was nothing. So we just walked. If you're expecting any sort of basic human decency, look elsewhere.

We had a lovely dinner with friends. Our server Josh was pleasant and helpful with menu questions. We enjoyed the octopus appetizer with the focaccia, the tricolore salad, followed by the bucatini and short rib mafaldine. We finished off our meal with the delicious tiramisu and some gelato. Loved the wine selection and pricing, wish more restaurants followed this model. We would return. Thanks for a great evening!
