We had an incredible Mother’s Day meal. It’s hard because my mom is 98 and can’t stand noise. It was quiet, airy in our booth with glass as a partition. The restaurant is beautiful, very majestic and dramatic. The service was warm, friendly and polished. The food was utterly fantastic. Everyone loved what was ordered— a truly perfect meal.

Caesar Salad was excellent as was the chicken Parmesan. Really enjoyed the meal and room with private booths. Surprised with this quality that room was not full of diners. Will definitely come again.

I want to give a big shout out to Liz, you made our day. You out did yourself in going out of your way to make our experience amazing 👏. The wait staff also deserves 5 stars. Now to the food. We have the charcuterie board YUM,the sea bass and the tiramisu were fabulous. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would go again in a heartbeat.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in New York City The food is amazing fresh delicious, and very flavorful I come here at least once a week with my coworkers or friends The staff is super nice, respectful and accommodate everyone

Cucina 8 1/2 has some of the best food in the city. The table side Caesar is one of my favorites, the zuccini chips are amazing. I've had the bronzino before and it's delicious. Had the ribeye for two, amazing. And something as simple as foccacia knocked me out of my chair last night. And August Ceradini, the proprietor and former chairman of the Culinary Institute of America understands hospitality and great food. I don't know that I've ever been there without him stopping by to chat. It's a great place to entertain and to enjoy an exquisite meal.

I showed up solo for Easter Brunch 2024 and was treated like royalty by Manager Liz and server Rebeca. From the prix-fixe menu I enjoyed Insalata Di Castelfranco, Baked Eggs Puttanesca, and the Warm Apple Crostata, plus unlimited Mimosas, all spectacular. What a wonderful memory!

Cucina 8 1/2 is our second home!!! We love it more than words can express. The food is divine and the service is sublime thanks to THE AMAZING WOMAN IN CHARGE, LIZ!!!! Wow!!! Abaokutley wonderful! My daughter picked this place for her 16th birthday dinner because it looked “fancy”… and she wanted to dress up. They welcomed her with a special table with rose pedals and her own menu on the back to wish her a special birthday! She also left with a rose from the server. Service was top notch, piano music was great and the ambience simply classy. Food was also good, drinks were quite pricey. We enjoyed it!

Each and every time is amazing. Mostly I want to mention how special the Easter Sunday Brunch was for all of us. It was fantastic and beyond all expectations. The menu was so extensive and delicious. Everyone loved the meal from beginning to end. Bravo to Liz and the team!

MY GO TO SPOT! This place has my heart ❤️ The ambience, the (real) italian food, the service and the quality is outstanding. Plus, it’s Sex and the City approved! Their meatballs, cavatellj, zucchini chips and white pizza are the best.

From the second I walked in the ambience blew me away! The beautiful winding staircase looking over the dining room is dreamy and very picturesque! Just below the bar down the smaller flight of stairs the hostess welcomed us with warmth and smiles. The FOOD!! Everything from the Zucchini Chips to the Cavatelli was incredible! Best meatballs I’ve ever had and the Branzino is unmatched! Ohhh and the Chicken Parmesan!!!! If you’re lucky enough to get reservations on Thursday there’s a MAGNIFICENT singer from 5-8pm. Thank you Cucina 8 1/2 I cannot wait to be back!

Food was solid. Table side Cesar salad was nice in concept but disappointing in delivery. Service in general was less than stellar. Just barely adequate with a lot of gesturing and work to get attention. Food was tasty.

Nice quiet beautiful spot. Ordered a Manhattan but did not expect it to be $24. Amish chicken was delicious but the $69 bone in steak was tasteless for whatever reason. All in all a nice place for a good overall meal

I had a fabulous experience while dining with a friend on a Tuesday evening. It was lively yet elegant and we were greeted so kindly even after putting in a last minute reservation. Liz was a wonderful host, and each dish we ordered was plated so beautifully and tasted even better - you can’t go wrong with any of the pasta dishes. I’m also still dreaming of the focaccia. Highly recommend Cucina 8 1/2, will be back very soon!

New favorite! We had a great dinner here before going to an evening performance. Our reservation was early, so we may have experienced more quiet than at peak times. The portions were larger than I had expected given that the menus is organized in typical Italian courses. A salad and an entree filled us up. The fish was perfectly cooked, and everything was beautifully presented. My only critique is that I wish the wine lust were more Italian. Nonetheless I had a perfect French rosè.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here last night and everything was spectacular. The cocktails we ordered were some of the BEST we've tried in the city, our server was delightful and their house made pasta did not disappoint. The Cavetelli was especially delicious. The staff even set up candles and rose petals at our table to really make the night feel special. We will be returning soon! 10/10.

With out a doubt this one of the top rests is restaurants on the upper west side. We love everything about it, always a perfect evening. The entire staff bends over backwards to make you feel welcome. The food is excellent. Liz is absolutely the best. As usual cannot wait to return.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The zucchini chips were very tasty and were finished quickly. Two of us had the cavatelli with roasted lamb for the main course and it was delicious. The chocolate nutella cake was the best dessert I have ever had! We will definitely return and highly recommend.

What a perfect setting to celebrate our anniversary. The service was perfect- everyone was so gracious and discreet. The food is amazing- creative and delicious- with the perfect wine pairing. We love the privacy of the round booths and overall ambiance.

I had a late Valentine's Day dinner here on February 17th at 8:00 pm. When my girlfriend and I got there we were shown to our table and Elizabeth came over and introduced herself she was incredibly kind to us all night coming over starting conversations, checking it, and more. She also made the dessert portion of our meal extremely special as well. Upon leaving she took our used sparklers that she put on our desserts to make them special (which was very nice and meant a lot) after taking the old sparklers she came back out to our table and gave us two new ones, two roses, and two small Moscato bottles. She made our night very special, we will definitely be coming back. Thank you guys for the great Valentine's Day dinner! The chefs did amazing everything tasted amazing.

The enjoyment of the excellent food served is sadly reduced by the very poor service. An appetizer ordered with the drinks eventually arrived after the full order was given and the appetizers were finished. The lemon pasta was a cool lump of congealed sauce that should have been sent back. The tiramisu arrived more than 30 minutes after it was ordered and was in a cold pre-prepared dessert in a glass. On the positive side much of the the food was quite good. The zucchini chips are addictively good, the bronzino is delicate and buttery. There was live music, which created a romantic atmosphere. Such poor service should be addressed as it distracts from the quality of the food. Lots of people in the kitchen, into which you can see, but very few people serving the food; they look understaffed. I would not recommend the restaurant unless you made it clear about your expectations regarding the timely delivery of the food.
