We are located in the same building as the Amtrak train station, just opposite side, next to West End Wine Bar.

Delightful ambience with top quality Italian food that compares to our trip to Rome and Florence. The atmosphere is metropolitan industrial with a welcoming bar scene as well as general seating. Perfect choice for our 20th anniversary date night! (Second time at CO and we plan to go back)

We had a really nice date, sitting at the bar. All of our food was high quality and delicious. They let us taste wines before choosing our glasses and the prices are fair— definitely a “date night” dinner but you’ll leave satisfied. We had 2 apps, 2 pastas, a dessert and 3 glasses of wine total. After 20% tip, our bill was about $165. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.

We have been fans of Cucciolo for years. Have always enjoyed our experiences here in the past. We actually held an all company dinner in their private dining room last year that was amazing. That’s why we were surprised by our mediocre experience last night. They have changed their menu a bit removing a couple of our all time favorites, beat salad and the black truffle tajarin. ☹️ We ordered a nice bottle of wine and a couple of appetizers which were great. But we gave our server our mains orders when the apps were served and we were barely halfway through them when our entrees arrived! Like 5 minutes after we ordered them! Felt totally rushed. Server should know how to course out a meal. In retrospect we should have sent them back. Pastas that we had… tajarin with shrimp and tajarin with white ragu were just ok. Kind of disappointing after such great experiences in the past.

We always love Cucciolo. I’m this night we took our two kiddos to our favorite date spot to celebrate a birthday. They’ve been before and every time are accepted and treated great by the servers. Desserts tonight were outstanding!

My fish was extremely salty -- unpleasantly so. At a whopping $46, I would have expected much better!

This is the second time I’ve been to Cucciola in Durham. We had a 5pm reservation due to having a 7pm event at DPAC. Service was slow. Our food came and was lukewarm, except the butter chicken. I’ve heard rave reviews about the butter chicken. Thank goodness I shared this dish and another with a friend. The butter chicken was literally fried chicken swimming in butter with little or no spices. It could have been a new food at the State Fair on a stick. Arugula salad, bread and wine were good. Pasta was cooked Al dente ✅. After two visits, I’m not sure what the hype is.

Excellent service, Shay was efficient and her timing was impeccable. I had the rigatoni with vodka sauce, the pasta was from a box and very al dente. Sauce was good, not great, ricotta tasted homemade which helped the dish. My BF had angel hair pasta with lobster sauce and seared shrimp which he enjoyed. We both had the bruschette which was basically bread with a smear of cheese and some chopped tomatoes on top, definitely they need schooling in the proper way to make bruschetta (bread needed to be toasted, rubbed with garlic and drizzled with oil in the classic Italian way). I'm a foodie and an amazing cook so going out is quite hard since I know I can make it so much better most of the time. All in all the service was top notch, the atmosphere was lively and casual. The food was underwhelming, but fresh and tasty, just too many variables not being met. Most of all the quality of the pasta and not knowing how to cook it properly, especially if you're spotlighting the pasta. Thanks Shay for being so on top of your game. Oh, and have the cinnamon bread pudding that Shay recommends, made everything come together!!!
