We enjoyed this venue very much. The selection and presentations were beautiful. The salmon entree was fresh and generous. I also appreciated the free valet parking. We will return and remember to ask for a table that is away from the many TVs. The outdoor area is very inviting too.

The food is good, but the lack of vegetables makes me think if I want to eat there again. I wish you had some vegetables dishes.

This review is specific to Covey's Easter Sunday buffet brunch, and not indicative of the restaurant in general. To explain, I have had dinner at Covey a couple times in the past and it was quite good, on all points, from quality of the food, to service, ambience, etc., and I would recommend the restaurant for casual dining on any "normal" day. But their Easter Sunday buffet brunch was pretty close to awful. First, the stack of plates for the buffet were disgusting. Although I'm sure they were sterile, because they were still so hot from the dishwasher I could barely hold them without burning my hand, they were not clean; every plate I looked at had remnants of food caked on it, baked onto the surface from the heat of the dishwasher. Even plates that looked reasonably clean were not, as running my fingers across the surface I could feel the food residue - just gross! I brought this to the attention of management, and they were very apologetic and removed all the plates to be rewashed, but it set the tone for the entire dining experience. The food was between mediocre to just okay, at best. Also, there was not enough variety of food choices, and of the choices they had, several of them ran out and were not refilled for a very long time, effectively reducing the choices if you actually wanted to eat in a timely fashion, and frustrating if one of the missing dishes was something you actually wanted to try. Service was just okay, but could have been more attentive in clearing plates and particularly in bringing fresh silverware, which never happened. All in all, I think Covey is a decent restaurant, but they failed badly at trying to pull off this special event for Easter, and at $40.00 per person, the value was just not there.

About 15 minutes after being seated, nobody had come to say hello or take our drink orders. I had to go ask the manager what was going on. When he brought the server over, she seemed a bit peeved. I asked about getting Feta in an omelet and she said flatly “we don’t have that.” I mentioned how feta was an ingredient in a different menu item and her response was “I’ll have to go look.” So I ordered the corned beef hash, which turned out not to be a hash, but just a pile of overly-salty corned beef. Oh, and the coffee was terrible.

Food was average at best. Except the French onion soup. Service was good. Ambiance is average too. Very overpriced for the experience.

We went on Valentine’s Day, and I’d like to preface this by saying that I believe they were over booked and understaffed. But while the service was very friendly, it was also incredibly slow. It probably took about a half an hour from when we sat down to get our first appetizer. The drinks were fairly bland, and the food, while seemingly high quality, was nothing to write home about from a flavor perspective. The ambiance, at least, was elegant and well done, but there wasn’t much to recommend past this.

Big disappointment. The place has the ambience of a small middle school cafeteria. Super plain and noisy. The space is quite small and crammed with tables and chairs. No chance for a cozy and intimate Valentines Dinner. We ordered the Valentines Day dinner hoping the chef would put his best possible product on our table. The food was okay but not great. The price was exceptionally high relative to the not very exceptional cuisine. Service was absurdly slow and inattentive. All and all, a costly mistake.

We paid a special price, but New Year's Eve is special, and the food is special here. The dishes are beautiful, artistic, and tasty. We made an occasion of a special cocktail and the small plates. An added attraction was the fireworks display at Depot Park!
