Take a seat at our signature French-inspired bistro, Couvant, housed in the former Peychaud Cocktail Bitters factory. Here, French techniques (think pain perdu for breakfast and cochon de lait for dinner) play on the roots of New Orleans cuisine using fresh, local ingredients.

New Orleans is renowned for its French cuisine, and you won’t have to leave the confines of The Eliza Jane to enjoy delicious fare within a French bistro.

Couvant specializes in classic French cooking serving entrees that pay homage to French history and regional specialties. The restaurant has a very limited menu and the server was not very helpful. She said they did not have milk punch but later the bartender said he definitely could have made that. They are not very accommodating for children - which is usually not an issue but it is in a hotel so you would think they would have more options.

We had a party size change from 6 to 13 a few hours before our dinner and Couvant was so accommodating. This was a special business dinner and all the guests were super happy with their meals, the space provided for us was the PERFECT set up for a group our size and I think other restaurants could learn a lot about how to accomplish the what they did - rather than one long table, we were in a square and ALL of us could interact with each other. Lastly, we had one server and he NEVER skipped a beat. I would recommend this restaurant to all and I'd love to go back next time I'm in NOLA.

Harrison provided excellent service as did all staff. The rooms are beautiful. The cocktails are spot on. The menu has selection without being overwhelming and all of the food ordered to our table was delicious.

relaxing atmosphere. Dinner was very good. We were a party of 5 and all had different entrees and they were delicious. Steak, Red Snapper and mussels. Would recommend.

The restaurant itself is lovely and the decor provides for an excellent ambiance. Our server was a bit slow but otherwise attentive and cheerful. The food was good however I and other guest found the proteins to be way too salty. Overall it was a positive experience and I would visit again next time in NOLA.

Outstanding experience! Devin was a great guide for our culinary journey. Drinks were happily delivered, food was fresh, hot and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Lackadaisical service--things like having to be reminded that our reservation was for outdoors, forgetting to bring us flatware... Food was acceptable but not great, except for the profiteroles. Good bar program for non-alcoholic beverages, excellent courtyard

The food was amazing. We shared escargot and both ordered duck. Everything was perfectly done. Our waitress started out pleasantly but got slower to respond through each course. She brought us the dessert menu and did not return. We appeared to be her only table….After an out 20 minutes we asked the bartender for our check and she went and “found” our waitress who then gave us our check with an attitude. Sad way to end a great meal.

We absolutely loved our experience at Couvant ! Our waiter was very kind, the food was excellent and the value was really reasonable compare of what you can find in the French Quarter.

Went to Couvant for the first time for Easter brunch. I had looked at the menu and was looking forward to seeing if the food tasted as good as it looked. I, along with my entire table was not disappointed! Literally everything the four of us ordered was delicious. In particular, the Croque Madame I ordered was, incredible! Also, more special mention were the side of rosemary potatoes. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the drinks were also awesome. My girlfriend has a gluten allergy, but she was able to find plenty to eat with no problem. Before we left, we were already talking about coming back for a dinner seating.

Very professional host. Excellent spacing by host in dining room. Wonderful service by Steve. Breakfast was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Would definitely return.

Food was simply outstanding. There was no bartender so the rest of the staff had to help and that slowed service a bit but it was worth it. It was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

William was the best server we’ve ever had. We went to about 10 different locations for food on our trip to New Orleans, and this has been the best experience, so much so that we had to return. William was so nice, he recommended great dishes, and also told us which cocktails would go best with which dish. We could not recommend this place more.

Overall was good, not great. Price to quality of food not what we expected. Very friendly and good service. Menu was very limited. We weren’t unhappy but not sure we would return.

I've been looking forward to dining at Couvant for a long time. It didn't disappoint for Brunch service on a Saturday. Food was delicious, service was fantastic! Lovely venue. My one and only issue was that 2 of the regular priced cocktails we ordered (espresso martini) and single mimosa were served in banquet sized glasses. I did bring it up to the server but he didn't know why either. No worries. Not a deal breaker but friend to friend- that's not cool. I will absolutely be back to this beautiful restaurant located inside and even more beautiful hotel. I know this tiny issue has nothing to do with the overall dining experience and is strictly related to the bar, but it should be addressed. ❤️

We had a very nice Saturday brunch here. The bottomless cocktail selection was really nice and they even hooked us up with a pour to go. Food was excellent and arrived quickly. The restaurant is attached to such a beautiful hotel - really spectacular ambience all around. I really recommend checking out the courtyard in the back when the weather is good!

Reservation at 6:30. Main course delivered at 8:30. Blamed room service take out, the way we ordered., the inexperience of the waitress, but was just poor management. Seemingly, everyone else was served timely. Dessert was only one of 6 options left. Specialty drinks not available and took 10 minutes to inform us of that. Food very good. Service abysmal
