Take a seat at our signature French-inspired bistro, Couvant, housed in the former Peychaud Cocktail Bitters factory. Here, French techniques (think pain perdu for breakfast and cochon de lait for dinner) play on the roots of New Orleans cuisine using fresh, local ingredients.

New Orleans is renowned for its French cuisine, and you won’t have to leave the confines of The Eliza Jane to enjoy delicious fare within a French bistro.

Couvant specializes in classic French cooking serving entrees that pay homage to French history and regional specialties. Never pretentious, the dishes and service at Couvant are purposefully simple and social. Nestle into an intimate dining room banquette. The restaurant has a very limited menu and the server was not very helpful. She said they did not have milk punch but later the bartender said he definitely could have made that. They are not very accommodating for children - which is usually not an issue but it is in a hotel so you would think they would have more options.

We had a party size change from 6 to 13 a few hours before our dinner and Couvant was so accommodating. This was a special business dinner and all the guests were super happy with their meals, the space provided for us was the PERFECT set up for a group our size and I think other restaurants could learn a lot about how to accomplish the what they did - rather than one long table, we were in a square and ALL of us could interact with each other. Lastly, we had one server and he NEVER skipped a beat. I would recommend this restaurant to all and I'd love to go back next time I'm in NOLA.

Harrison provided excellent service as did all staff. The rooms are beautiful. The cocktails are spot on. The menu has selection without being overwhelming and all of the food ordered to our table was delicious.

relaxing atmosphere. Dinner was very good. We were a party of 5 and all had different entrees and they were delicious. Steak, Red Snapper and mussels. Would recommend.
