Upping hospitality and embracing diversity is what we strive for at Counter & Bodega. We are a full service sit down restaurant and bar located in the heart of Chelsea, New York, featuring authentic Puerto Rican and Multi-Latin comfort food. We provide a cozy and welcoming setting offering excellent service, signature libations inspired by beverages found in any NYC local bodega, along with both traditional and unique food menu items. During warm weather enjoy outside dining in our cozy garden backyard. Special gatherings for parties of 8 or more guests can reserve our speakeasy game room after enjoying dinner upstairs on the main floor. Counter & Bodega is a private family owned company.

We ordered the grill chicken breast and pernil. Portions was huge and, while the pernil was on the salty side, we totally enjoyed our food. However, the drinks while inexpensive (compared to other places) were not to our liking. The mojito with coconut (which I love) had no coco flavor at all and the fruit drink was too sweet. Not sure if we just ordered wrong but after one sip, we left the drinks untouched on the table. Overall, food was authentic and plentiful, place has a nice vibe (played Spanish music) and service was good. In the 1960s, PR food was all over the place but hard to find these days so welcome treat.

Place too dark inside to see the menu. Overpriced with so many extra charges that it’s impossible to no ask why we paid 35% in addition to the normal prices. The waitress just added herself her own tips without asking / leaving us evaluate if she really deserves it. The table was dirty and the music way too loud to hear ourselves thinks. Only satisfaction the gentleman always making sure we had fresh water in our glasses.

Great food, big portions. Celebrated Mothers Day with my mom here. Joanna was our waitress and was very nice. Would go again.

First orderan appetizer first was not and option we have to order everything as once and basically we get the appetizer and the main course together ,. Drink were very weak .,, everything was in rush .. like it was not time to enjoy the food .. I will not go there again or recommend to anyone

The food is salty - service overall was good; but we were being rushed to leave. One of the waiters told us there’s a limit to the table as soon as we got there. We hadn’t even ordered anything yet. Drinks were excellent.
