                                                                                                                                                                Prepare to dine with a stranger as the place is wonderfully compact, but has a great aesthetic, solid drink and wine (no beer though if thats your thing) and the staff is just great. I had the lamb shank over risotto which fell off the bone and full of flavor (the lamb AND the risotto) Go early for a little more room.

The specials menu has no prices so be aware. Small tables. Friendly staff, decent food.

                                                                                                                                                                To entertain my friends from Tokyo, I looked up to the cozy small restaurant in west village. Cotenna is one of the best decisions I have ever made in NYC. We ordered grilled octopus salad, tuna tartare, seafood pasta and gnocchi with chocolate truffle. Tiramisu, baked cheese cake and warm chocolate mousse were all delicious. It was very affordable. The beautiful girl who served us was so kind and made us relaxed. I found a gem in NYC!!

And need to give a HUGE THANKS to the employee who ran after us for three blocks with the backpack we left. Incredible service.
