For a $200 brunch the food was tasteless, service lacking they wouldn’t even pick up our plates for the Mother’s Day brunch. It was a terrible experience. Overall a 1 or 2 star at best.

Love that this hotel is offering a buffet! Second year in a row we came for the Mother's Day Buffet. It is so nice it is outside and there is plenty of food choices. No big lines and the tables are spread out enough you can walk through with no problem.

Missed the place because of the rain last year, but still had good time at the Mex. next store . Told all our friends what a lovely day we had. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR. Hope you'll soon be open for lunch and dinners. Thank You.

Complete disappointment I was very excited to take my mother for the Mother’s Day brunch. All the food was cold, they didn’t have any of it covered nor warmers on. The variety of what there was to eat was minimal. There were very little servers so getting any drinks or additional items was difficult. This experience was definitely not worth the $57 the charged.

Not that good in any way. I don't think that they did a good job at all. It was a small buffet . Cold food. No plates. Tge dessert was good though. I forgot about that.

I took my family for Mother’s Day and it was a great experience all around. However, the menu for Mother’s Day brunch was not what was available at the buffet.

Restaurant has been closed for 2 years apparently and I had made reservations for a special event. I had to last min scramble with guests and wait 40 mins for another place nearby.

A triple threat restaurant...excellent location, excellent service and excellent food! A must visit location. If you want creative food without a big price tag check this place out, you won’t regret it!

Server appeared to have never served before in her life. Crab cakes may have well been called 'cold crab and mayonnaise'. Bruschetta was on week old baguette. The vegetables in the vegetable fettuccini must have been forgotten, maybe one cherry tomato cut in half and one spear of asparagus cut into pieces (not kidding). Filet cooked to order, but cold mashed potatoes and very bland broccolini. Lava cake and raspberry sorbet were by far the best course of the valentines three course wine paring dinner. Not very busy and were practically ignored with very little attention to our table from time of order to check dropped.

The food was really good. The menu was limited for Valentine’s Day, but delicious! The ambiance is cool and there is a cute little shopping area that you can visit while you are waiting for your reservation. Our service was a little slow. And they kept forgetting the wine for the wine pairing/not refilling our water glasses.

The patio seating for The buffet style brunch has a beautiful ambiance! The coffee and the omelette station was very good. The potatoes had all the right ingredients, could have been seasoned better and cooked more crispy, bacon was crispy and very tasty, nice small pancakes, didn’t try the poached eggs- their presentation was pretty, there were biscuits and gravy - okay, the sausages too strongly flavored. The main dishes were all not very flavorful, the Whitefish Vera Cruz tasted muddy like catfish, the Mexican meat dish was on the dry side and made me long for Carnitas, the chicken a little dry but the flavor was fine. The desert table had a very pretty presentation. I would change the brand of cheesecake bites, the crumb layer just crumbled away. The bread and butter are located near the omelette station, a little hard to find. May I suggest placing the Caesar salad next to the beautiful mixed salad (It was also hard to find)? The waiter and the omelette station guy were very attentive and personable. Whatever was lacking in flavors in some of the main dishes, all in all, we had a pleasant experience because of the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff.

Unfortunately, this has to be one of the worst restaurants we have been to in San Diego. I always like to support local businesses, but the Cosmopolitan can't be one of them. Arrived on a Sat. evening, sat in Patio and listened to nice music. It took a while for the waitress to arrive, even though the place was pretty empty. Ordered drinks, then entrees. It took considerable time for orders to arrive, earlier guest left, but surrounding tables were not cleaned for over 30 min. I'll say it again, they were not busy. Our food finally arrives, I ordered the steak fajitas. For $18 I received 3-4 ounces of steak, 2 tortillas, rice and the worst salsa, guacamole. No chips or salsa are provided unless you pay???? and the flavor of the food was non existent. My three dining partners didn't fare any better, all food pretty dismal. So 4 people, 4 beers, over $105. We could of gone to our local Mexican takeout and for $45 eaten like kings. It is unfortunate that such a lovely, historic venue isn't packed with people. Just across the walk in another restaurant,, hundreds of people were dining, listening to music and dancing. Management at this restaurant should be replaced. After dinner, we walked through the lovely dining in the hotel, barren. This place just exists for the Cruise industry and unknowing tourists because locals know better, me included.

We had been there several times before for Valentine’s Day and we loved the ambiance and the food was very good. This time, we ordered a steak and sea bass. The sea bass was passing at best, the rib eye steak was horrible. It is supposed to be a good cut but this one stringy, full of fat and tasteless. Interestingly, the table next to us were so dissatisfied with their meal that they sent it back and refused a replacement meal. We don’t know why the quality of the food went downhill but be going back anytime soon.

I love coming, but it was cold (low-60s, upper-50s) and I immediately noticed that the heater wasn’t working. Instead of addressing it I was told there was nothing that could be done, but I could be re-sat in the same section. We flagged another waiter who immediately addressed the overhead heater, but there were still unused portable heaters that would have been appreciated had they been brought over. I love the live band and will continue to come back for the ambiance, but during warmer evenings. If it is chilly, especially on the tables around the outskirts of the venue, I hope they utilize all their heaters, instead of assuming people are alright.

We expected to eat Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel. Due to the rain they switched us to another restaurant. It was crowded, hostess was aloof, food was cold and the place was noisy.

I was very disappointed. I picked cosmopolitan for the ambience. For some reason when we got there we were told we had to walk down (in the rain) to another restaurant, the mexican restaurant Bara Bara. The ambience was much different , very casual and also cold. To make matters worse, since the members of our party dont eat meat, the menu said there would be fish and also mussels marinara. The fish was there. When i asked where the mussels were i wad told they could not get enough for everyone so they decided not to have them. The other side dishes were plentiful but since they were by the front door the dishes were not hot. All in all i would never book this restaurant in the future, $50 per person was too much for what they had.

Thanksgiving buffet booked at Cosmopolitan. A couple days before event they inform they are moving us to mexican restaurant next door. Buffet haphazardly arranged around bar. Presentation unattractive. People packed into restaurant making movement cumbersome. Service left a LOT to be desired

I have attended your Thanksgiving Buffet for the past 3 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. This years it was horrible. I understand the venue was changed because of the rain, but that should not affect the quality of the food. The turkey was dry and horrible and served like i have never seen before. The Mac and. Cheese not good. The salads, though similar to previous years’ versions were tasteless this year. The ham was dry and inedible. Everything, honestly, was substandard and was an embarrassment as I was entertaining friends. I guess i will need to find another venue if this is the new standard for your holiday buffet. Pity.

Our server was great. Nice selection on buffet table. Rainy holiday. Roof leaked on both sides of our table. Staff did try to keep water cleaned up.

The food was over cooked and tasteless. We have eaten at the Cosmopolitan several times before, the food was good, which was why we chose them. We hoped Thanksgiving food would be at least that good. It was raining this day and the roof leaked in several places, which made the floor slippery in several places. It was a waste of our time and money.
