At Coro we believe chocolate should be a fun and sharing experience. We don’t claim to be master chocolatiers, in fact its quite the opposite. Our aim is to give customers their chocolate fix but not just from your standard bar of chocolate. We pour our Belgian chocolate over freshly made pancakes, into our buttery crepes and drizzled over our fluffy waffles. If thats not enough we’ll give you a fondue to dunk some fresh fruit, cake or sweets into melted chocolate with a hot chocolate like no other to wash it all down.

I haven't been to this cafe for a long time. But I went with my friends last week.... And the crepes were so hard.. We couldn't cut it even with a knife. And I found a hair in mine. I loved this place in the past.. but I don't know what is happening. Every time I go the quality is worst.

Lovely Coffee and the lightest, tastiest waffles I’ve ever had. There were 4 in our party and we all really enjoyed our waffles, crepes and cheesecake. Can’t recommend enough.

Was OK, no table service, crepes little over done. Wasn't best. We've been a few times but won't be back. Nice token with candle and ice cream as birthday treat for my daughter. Expensive for what it is.

Booked a table for Valentine's Day and arrived to a huge queue despite having booked and there being a handful of empty tables. The server seemed surprised to see the queue and seated everyone after about 20 minutes. The cafe was disconcertingly quiet as no music was playing making for a strange atmosphere, our table was filthy (we watched the servers direct guests to un-wiped tables, and the glasses and cutlery provided for us had lipstick marks from a previous guest), and the bathrooms were out of order. The server didn't seem to understand us when she took our orders and when the food arrived after a long wait, one of the orders was wrong. All this said, the food was delicious - I would maybe order online, if not sit in again. The servers genuinely seemed like they were trying their best, but they were out of their depths. It seemed like the cafe had been staffed with all new hires, which was strange considering it was Valentine's Day evening.

I enjoyed my pancake but cafe felt a bit run down . Decor was tired and rubbish lieing about . Apart from guy who served me staff weren't very friendly and didn't engage with anyone . I felt they didn't have any passion for what they were making . The gents toilets were out of order and when I used the Females I had a lady ( customer) telling me I shouldn't be using it . Overall the food was nice but not a nice environment really .

Lovely food, we had sweet crepes, savoury crepes & pancakes. Staff were pleasant. The service is pretty much self service & it was nice to have water on tap available nearby so you don't have to bother staff when needing a top up!

We visited on Saturday lunch after booking and despite being busy we got our table on time. The food we ordered was lovely as always! It would be great if the place could be a little more kids friendly with a few smaller kids options, this is the only things that lets us down each time we visit but great place!

Coro serves fantastic dessert! The waffle and crepes with strawberry and belgian chocolate soo good and yummy. My children also likes the vanilla and strawberry milkshakes

If you are a chocoholic like me I thoroughly recommend the cookie dough. I chose the S'mores version and it was delicious. I couldn't help but "mmmm" and "oooohhhh" so much - people would mistake me for Meg Ryan!

This was the perfect lunch spot. the staff we fantastic, we had extra people turn up and they were very accommodating!!! Food was really tasty and the hot chocolate was the best ever! I will he reccomendong this place to all my friends! Perfect location aswell 5 stars all the way! thank youuuu

Enjoyed the food, however, it was pretty much self service. Leaving your table to order and pay, collecting your own cutlery...sugar...and staff weren't very attentive. Toilets had seen better days too.

It was a lovely experience. There were 12 of us out on a Christmas Day out, 7 adults and 5 children. The staff managed to get us all sitting together. The food drinks and service was amazing. Thank you!

Very awful service and the staff were very rude. Had to wait about 20 minutes to only be told where we need to stand to order , then wait another 20 minutes after for our food to come. You’d expect much much better but was absolutely terrible.

The staff is really nice and welcoming, the place pleasant, quiet and comfy. The food corresponds to what you order, the only issue would be that it is way too sweet. Even the most average or simple option ends being really really sweet, to the point that it is hard to finish.

We arrived as a walk-in but cause its Christmas time they were quite busy and had a long wait so I recommend booking in advance. Despite being fairly busy the staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food arrived quicker than anticipated for us, a party of 4. The service was a bit disappointing on the cleanliness side with the lack of clean cutlery being restocked at the self-service and the workstation looking quite messy. The table a little stickiness to them as well which isn't normally the case and I would say would probably be more cause of the rush in service. Still over all a really lovely place to have dessert indoors for a reasonable price.

Lovely welcoming small cafe with great food choices. The only negative is that the menus were tatty and sticky. Had the overall feel of not being particularly clean but it is quite an old building so don’t go here if you are expecting a plush modern place to eat.

Awesome chocolate waffles that are well worth the visit. Portions were huge and we couldn’t all manage it so were offered take away boxes which we took the leftovers home in. Worth booking though as some people were being turned away after we’d arrived due to being short staffed.

The food was absolutely delicious. My youngest enjoyed the death by chocolate cake and can’t wait to go back again for more. Staff were friendly and highly recommend Coro for a great treat out.

I made a reservation for a date, but upon arriving at the venue, they couldn't find my reservation. The staff member in charge appeared indifferent and exclaimed, "Just sit them anywhere," which was quite disappointing. Additionally, this same staff member shouted orders to colleagues and drivers loudly and spoke to them in a rather raised tone, creating a less-than-pleasant atmosphere.

We have been twice as tourists over a 15 month period--it was great both times, and have been quite accommodating in altering drink/food orders. Would continue to go back, and wish there was something like this close to home.

Best dessert place in Edinburgh city centre! New decor is lovely since the refurbishment. Kinder Bueno milkshake was one of the best I've had! We often come here for a sweet treat when in Edinburgh. Very well priced and lots of options for both sweet and savoury. Very much geared towards creating your own which I love. This time we came for dessert after dinner elsewhere so I finally had the Death by Chocolate Cake. Hands down the best chocolate cake I've ever had! Their hot chocolate is also made with your choice of melted chocolate and is delicious. Only slight thing is the toilets could do with a bit of TLC. Would highly recommend (I'd also recommend booking, especially during the Fringe and festive seasons)

I had booked a table for two on a Monday night but probably didn't need to, as there was availablity. The food came out quickly but we were accidentally given one wrong item, which was amended straight away, and the staff were very nice about it. I had the s'mores cookie dough which was delicious. The whole experience was good and I would recommend this business.

Largely my experience at Coros (as always is a very enjoyable experience). There was some minor changes which I wasn't expecting, such as ordering and paying at the till rather than table service. This was not a problem in the slightest and actually self- service on certain things made lots of sense, such as cutlery and water dispenser. Was a little bit loud with families and children around but it wasn't too intrusive. The food was divine and would happily come back!

The most divine pancakes I have ever eaten. I last visited Edinburgh over 4 years ago, and I have been dreaming of Coro’s ever since. I went back to Edinburgh last week and they did not disappoint, just as scrumptious as I remembered. A must if you are a chocolate fan.

Arrived on time for our booking, & waited to be seated. Despite the cafe being quiet we were initially ignored by the 3 staff members who clearly saw us, a disappointing first impression, as even the most basic training should ensure that they at least acknowledge and smile at any new customers! Once seated, in a comfortable booth, we made our choices from an inviting menu (with lots of options for customising your pancakes, crepes and waffles) then ordered & paid at the counter. Our food was prepared fresh and arrived within a fair timeframe, but they totally forgot our drinks order and I needed to go up and remind them after we had already started eating. We'd thoroughly recommend the bubble berry waffle and the pancakes with bacon, egg and maple surup, both were absolutely scrumptious! I was seated at one end facing towards the counter and observed a general lack of efficiency and enthusiasm in all the staff members (at least 4). A mistake was also made in the order at the table next to us, with a dish being returned amd a fresh one brought. They were all young and possibly inexperienced, and had that air of really wanting to be anywhere but there, which made the atmosphere far less inviting than it should be. The toilets were also dirty, with only a scrap of toiet roll left, which is simply unacceptable, anywhere! On leaving we again experienced a lack of a simple goodbye or thanks in response to ours. Coro Cafe is definitely to be praised for its sweet foods, but the atmosphere and service both let it down. Sadly I would not recommend Coro as its basic standards of service are simply not good enough.
