First timer at Coopers Hawk, my family and friends have been raving about this place, I missed an opportunity to try the restaurant in Elk Grove, Illinois, got a second chance and went to Cooper’s Hawk in Des Moines Iowa, it did not disappoint. The meal was delicious, had the Arrachera meat meal, the mash potatoes was the best I’ve tasted in a while. Most definitely will be back to celebrate life or something else.

Usually we do our wine tasting for the month before dinner. It wasctwo deep at the bar, so we asked to be seated in the dining room. They quickly accommodated us.

We had a wonderful dining experience celebrating our 36th anniversary- the food was amazing and we even received complimentary champagne! Great service!

First we watched them give away our (reserved) table to another group. (Watched them call my first name and other people stepped up.) I imagine we would still be sitting there if I hadn't asked about it. After a flurry of realizing what they had done, they stuck us in the dining area with multiple large family groups with many small children. It felt like we were at Perkins on a Saturday morning. Clearly there was only one waiter for the entire room, so it wasn't really his fault that our meal took TWO HOURS. It was a Sunday at 5 -- it wasn't that busy -- I still don't get it. The food was good, but that's not enough. And the food deserves a better ambiance than a noisy cafeteria. Just another suburban chain, I'm afraid.

We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary here. Everything was excellent from the interact with the servers, quality and taste of the food, wine and complimentary glass for anniversary, and atmosphere. We will definitely return!
