Front and back garden patio available on a first come first serve basis, we will do our best to accommodate requests but we cannot guaratee front or back patio seating.

Colette blends the best of French culture to bring a dynamic dining experience to Porter Square. We strive to leave a lasting impression with our dramatic surroundings, smart wine list, warm and hospitable service, hand-crafted cocktails, and of course, a French inspired menu. Brunch, dinner, or cocktails - welcome to your new home!

We offer a range of small plates, hot and cold, which remix French classics - Mussels, Steak Frites, Salads, along with Cheese and Charcuterie boards and French desserts: Mousse au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée... Everything is made in house with love, we start from scratch everyday.

The star of our drink menu is definitely the wine, But we also serve beers, ciders and cocktails crafted by our mixologists.

We are located in the Porter Square Hotel in Cambridge.

Had a very nice meal for a large group. It was a little loud but we all enjoyed our cocktails and food. Only complaint is that the menu prices were not accurate and some of us didn’t get complete menus, which is inexcusably sloppy.

Probably the worst all around meal we have had in our 40+ years of dining out in the Boston area. For starters, even though we made a reservation well in advance the staff tried to seat us in the bar. When we objected they seated us next to the bar in a highly trafficked area. When my Steak Frites arrived, it was medium rare instead of medium well as ordered. By the time it returned my wife had almost finished her dinner and my potatoes were cold. When we complained about a 3% kitchen surcharge on the bill, our waiter gave a poor response. So, needless to say we will never return. If you are looking for a good meal in a nearby hotel restaurant, I suggest Henriettas Table at the Charles Hotel in Harvard Sq. A much better dining experience all around. And less expensive.

We had a lovely birthday dinner yesterday. The staff were welcoming and professional and the food was delicious. Fresh bread and butter accompanied the meal and we began we the cheese and charcuterie board and fried Brussel sprouts. Yum! All the mains were delicious with good sizes portions - not too big nor small. We topped off the meal with freshly brewed coffee and dessert. We will be back!

Spectacular Evening! - enjoying a Tuesday evening Wine Series event! Theme this particular evening: California Wines compared to French/European. Excellent, interesting, knowledgeable, fun presentation and lots of wonderful wines to taste and compare. Paired dishes were delicious, and presented well w/each of the wines. Salad Cesar, Escargots, Duck Confit & Mushroom Vol au Vent Steak Frites and a sweet dessert! Lovely set up for the Wine Session - outdoor patio area as well as inside decor, have great ambiance! A visit to Colette, all around highly recommend! Place is a Delight!

We came for Mother’s Day and there must have been some abnormal issue going on. Everyone had reservations and was sat about 30 minutes late. We were not updated on the situation and basically just waited in line with no communication.

2nd time visit. 1st was great. 2nd not so. very busy. ok service from over scheduled waiter. from brussels sprouts, to onion soup, to chicken, all were good, not great. just good/ok.

Adorable French bistro- one of my favorite ambiances around. Food is pretty good, not high-end, but also quite yummy bistro fare on the whole. Sadly, the service has gone down-hill since it opened. Shouldn’t wait 15 minutes for waiter to come by for the first time to see if you want something to drink. Waitstaff need more customer service training. But, I still go for the cool vibe and homey French food!

I've eaten at Colette before, though not in a couple of years, and liked it. But last night was not good. The food was nothing like as good as I remember it as being. There was no beef bourguignon, which was what I wanted, so I ate the chicken and it was fatty and over-salted and just not good. No one else much liked their dishes either. The place was almost empty but nevertheless the dessert was so slow to arrive that I actually went and found our server and told her just to bring the check---and then of course dessert did arrive. I was the one who had recommended Colette to our party and I was embarrassed.

It was ok. Food was a bit low quality. I could taste simple cheap mushrooms in the duck confit. The duck entree was made with terrible quality of duck. Definitely need improvement in purchasing of quality produce.

It no longer has the old menu. The online menu is now unavailable. It has okay food not nothing different from a decent dinner but probably 40% more expensive.

The food and atmosphere at Colette was impeccable. A group of us went for our monthly book club and brunch and we came out so happy. Definitely recommend the croissant basket and the eggs benny!

Service was outstanding as were the meals for our party of four. The beat and arugula salad was fresh and wonderfully prepared. The Brussel sprouts were over the top as well. We each had a different entree all of which were excellent: meat and fish cooked appropriately and delivered hot. Was our first visit and will def return.

Delicious French food in a quiet bistro atmosphere. I had perfectly prepared duck breast, seared skin, over mashed sweet potatoes and haricot vert. My friend enjoyed the tenderloin steak frites, and two other friends went for the pesto pasta. The creme brûlée was some of the best I've ever had. Nice wine selection by the glass, too.

Decided to visit Colette on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised. All of the food was plated beautifully and very fresh to taste. The cocktail list was carefully crafted and unique as well. Although we went for dinner, the experience was so positive that we're already planning on returning to try out their brunch options as well

Attention to detail is outstanding! We were immediately greeted and taken to our table. Beautifully decorated and comfortable seating. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming ( we even noticed the vents in the ceiling were clean and shining, no dust buildup ) Our drinks were beautiful and delicious Each meal came out looking fresh, beautifully crafted and smelled delicious . Fresh tasting and perfectly seasoned food. Restrooms are also clean with easy stair and elevator access. This is our 3rd visit, for brunch, and we have been wowed each time.

My husband & I took a visiting friend here for supper - the table was comfortably sized and separated from others, so we could hear ourselves talk; the server was super charming and generously attentive; the food was excellent - I had the steak frites & it was delicious; my husband had the pasta pesto & enjoyed it very much; our guest had the sole, and said it was great. Really lovely evening - kudos to the team!

I absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive. I never went to this restaurant but found it to eat dinner there before a show at the Somerville Theater. I highly recommend! Had the Brussels sprouts, the duck and mushroom pastry, the cod piccata and the short rib. We loved it all.

We had a great dinner experience at Colette! Our server was so pleasant and attentive, and the bartender came over to our table to talk to my mother to select the best bourbon for her Old Fashioned - such sweet attention to an elder. Food (including several fish dishes) were perfectly prepared. Sometimes I hesitate to book at a hotel restaurant but Colette dinner was fantastic- great dinner even if you’re not staying at the hotel.

Food was delicious- service was a little slow but very pleasant. Loved the decor such a cool place. Noise level - it was very loud - my father in law had a tough time hearing us but I really enjoyed the meal - would love to go back in the summer and sit at the patio tables.

Fun vibes and excellent service, but there’s an industrial shelving unit in the middle of the dining room where dirty dishes and water bottles are stacked. Distracting: this should be moved. The whole setup felt a bit “pop up” in general, not least because the only available restrooms were in the basement of the hotel. We got the sole (quite good, and with fantastic smashed truffle potatoes) and duck (didn’t ‘wow’ me: was cold by the time it got to my table). Was neither sophisticated enough nor generous enough in portion-size to exactly warrant the price, but a positive experience overall. I could not speak highly enough of the wait staff who were friendly, attentive, and efficient.

Food was fine but not exceptional. Fish was swimming in sauce. The french onion soup had a strange flavor that was unusual for the soup. The mussel appetizer, however, was delicious. The short ribs were ordinary, nothing special. The food presentation was pedestian. Wines were okay and overpriced. The service was fairly good. Atmosphere was okay, but some of the tables were so close that you felt the other diners were at your table. In short, I was expecting more from this restuarant given the price and the other reviews. Not sure if I would recommend this to a friend, but there is no choice for maybe. It would depend on the circumstances.

Food was fabulous! Best piece of halibut I have ever had. Not cheap, but totally worth it. Loved the vibe - bustling and noisy, but not too loud. Great service, too.

It was weird that a Wine Bistro only have 1 bottle of red burgundy served in small white wine glasses. Food was decent but we went for the wine and were disappointed.

Beware that “large groups” are automatically accessed a 20% gratuity. ALL tables are automatically accessed a 3% “kitchen appreciation fee”. Yes, the credit card reader will still ask for an additional tip. Wait staff gave us menus that listed no salads, but wording to add chicken or salmon to any salad for a fee. The menu selection was extremely limited. The food that is actually served is good.
