We’re regulars for Sunday brunch but our friends had never been before and they had a great time. The avocado toast with lox is delicious and my wife enjoyed her salad with salmon. Ashley did a wonderful job taking care of us!

The place was half empty but still had to wait "5 minutes" before being seated. Another 10 minutes after being seated by what seemed like a manager who approached us for drink orders. Maybe understaffed? Food is great as usual. Asked for extra chimichurri sauce on the side with the $52 red snapper dish and they charged an extra $1 for that! As is $52 for a dish was not enough, a little extra sauce came with a charge! Just a shame to do that.

Our over all experience was very good, however, there was a large group that were particularly noisy which distracted from the usual ambiance. The service was slower than usual also, not sure if there was a staffing issue. I had noted on the reservation that it was a birthday celebration, there was no reference made to this at all and usually the waiter identifies who the birthday celebrant is and at the very least wishes them a happy birthday. This was disappointing I have to say, and not the usual standard at Coin and Candor.

We had a wonderful dining experience outside overlooking the waterfall! The red snapper, charred avocado salad, Caesar Salad and chicken were tasty selections that we enjoyed. Max was very attentive and kind in seeing that we had everything we needed. Coin & Candor is always a lovely outing!

A little louder than I recall from previous visits but there was a birthday being celebrated at a nearby table. The food and service were excellent as ever. I miss the comfier and quieter ambiance of the place before it was remodeled but this is still one of my absolute favorite places to meet.

Appetizers were ok. They had great options so we tried a bunch. Nothing impressive. The steak entree was probably my favorite. I would def come back just for the chocolate bar on their dessert menu. Cocktails too were pretty good. I think I can understand the pricing considering the place, but the dishes were extremely small and over priced for what it was. If they all tasted incredibly amazing, I would give it to them but the dishes were lacking.

Pros- Best meal I’ve had in a long time. From the fresh-baked pretzel loaf with mustard compound butter, the amazingly innovative seasonal vegetable side dishes, to the incredibly light, barely sweetened strawberry coupe dessert, I could barely contain my joy. I can’t wait to go back and work my way through the menu. The service was lovely and welcoming and all the hosts and servers called us by name from when we arrived until we left. The space is lovely and the outdoor seating overlooks the hotel’s spectacular waterfall. The space is light and bright and the interior lights were dimmed as the sun went down creating a very romantic atmosphere. Cons - the service was rather slow but in hindsight it was nice to not feel rushed through the meal to turn over the table. The worst aspect was the noise level. It seems that many restaurants are now going for a sleeker design and carpeting and fabric-upholstered seats/booth are giving way to hard, slick surfaces that do nothing to absorb sound. The result is so noisy that normal conversation is nearly impossible so you’re speaking louder adding to the problem. Next time we’ll go when the weather is warmer and ask to sit outside where I think the roar of the waterfall will be quieter.
