Restaurateurs Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato opened Brasserie Cognac de Monsieur Ballon in April 2008. The duo brought their love for French culture and cuisine to New York City and gave the Big Apple an authentic slice of such, with a brasserie style menu combining French classics with modern creations.

Incredible our server was so kind and we felt very well taken care of. Food was incredible. The feta tomato tart was sooooo good to share with my mom!

Every time I go to your restaurant, I am never disappointed. The food is excellent and the service is very professional and the staff are all very nice.

We came here for brunch after walking past the other location in the upper east side. This restaurant was completely different - no charm, no outdoor seating, and no lively atmosphere. My omelette was as dry as the Sahara and tasted terrible from the rubbery Swiss cheese on the inside. On the plus side, my daughter enjoyed her waffle and our server was excellent, but I wouldn't return here again nor would I recommend it.

The steak frites was mediocre. 2 of us in the party of 3 ordered it. We are die-hard steak frites lovers, and are disappointed at the quality of the meats (and fries as well) served to us.

This is my go to place - transports me to Paris. Better than a Parisian bistro as eggs available early morning through 3pm.

We live in the neighborhood. This is a great, low key option for leisurely weekend brunch. Varied menu, attentive service. Relax and enjoy!

If you want mediocre food, this is the place to go. The best thing about this restaurant is the name and that’s it. Not surprisingly, the restaurant was not even half full. I don’t see how could last much longer in the city that has superb restaurants. I do not recommend it under any circumstances.
