Located in a former auto shop in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood near The Menil Collection and Museum District, Clark’s Houston is the third and largest location of our popular neighborhood oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Opened in Fall 2023, Clark’s features freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, bowls of chowder and cioppino as well as a much-loved burger and shoestring fries.

The restaurant specializes in martinis and signature cocktails as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list. The design is light, bright, and airy with nautically-themed touches including a centerpiece fish tank, teak wood furniture, bright white walls, and blue and turquoise tones.

In addition to a marble-topped oyster bar and dining room, there’s a large, covered patio for prime people watching and oyster slurping. Clark’s Houston also offers a semi-private dining room for special occasions and events.

Clark’s is a gem of a restaurant in Montrose. The food is excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. They fall very short when it comes to service. We have dined at Clark’s twice now and the service was bad both times. Our waiter was absent for 3/4 of our meal, water glasses empty for 30+ minutes and were more attentive to the tables who didn’t order a full expensive meal. It’s a shame that such a lovely restaurant is lacking such a major component.

Shrimp toast was not my favorite and the noise was a lot this time. Patrons seemed unaware or unconcerned at how loud they were being. Not the fault of the restaurant but it made it very difficult to have a conversation sitting right next to each other. I will be back as the service is always great from the valet to the waitstaff and the timing of the food. Oysters are always great and my friend loved the lobster roll.

Good as usual. A little disappointed in the steak, but it is a seafood house. They have tomatoes on top of the steak, which I just did not understand.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants to visit in the middle of the week or in a chill evening. Amazing food, amazing service, and most importantly consistent.

We loved it! Got a dozen raw Oysters and Mussels and Clams . Very nice place with excellent service and food.

Drinks and food were great. The patio is lovely but with summer heat, recommend going after the sun sets to avoid getting blasted by the sun as it directly hits outdoor space. Will be great in the fall!

Truly exceptional service with Joshua and Gaby. We were familiar with the Austin location so Houston's new Clark's did not disappoint. I knew I would be having the best quality oysters and sure enough I did, and wish I had more. The food was super fresh, tasty and presented beautifully. Valet service was prompt and courteous and much needed. The only thing is that it is quite loud and we had to shout to hear each other and so were other tables as we could hear them as well; definitely not a deal breaker, will be returning for more oyster and other menu items. Good Job Clark's Houston.

Went to Clark’s before we attended a show at 713 music hall. It came highly recommended by a friend. We ordered a dozen mixed oysters and 1/2 dozen baked. All good. Main course we ordered 2 lobster rolls and the mussels and clams. The lobster rolls were tasteless and contained shell. The mussels and clams were overcooked and chewy with flavorless broth. Overall, the food was pricey and not great. Unfortunately, we will not be back.
