Located in the heart of the the Most Beautiful Square in Texas, City Post Chophouse began its story as a post office in the 1930s, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Nearly a century later, the beautifully renovated historic building now offers an elevated dining experience, live music and private events.

Executive Chef Adrian Corkill has curated a stand-out menu, featuring fine cuts and chops of beef, lamb, and pork, as well as fresh seafood and decadent side dishes served family style, along with unique handcrafted cocktails. Accommodations for vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free diets are readily available. Our wine selection includes something for everyone, with a variety of by-the-glass options.

Reservations can be made for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch in our main dining room, where “Texas formal” attire is appropriate. Walk-ins are welcome in our oyster bar, where our full menu is available with a more relaxed dress code.

    City Post Chophouse has great food and atmosphere. We just learned they are working on an addition in the basement for alternate use. We are glad we found this place and will continue to return as often as we can find a babysitter.

    Great service, wine, food and dessert. I had to send my steak back as it was a bit too medium rare and asked for 2 more minutes. when i got it back, it was spectacular! And the chef was not offended at all! :) Celebrated a 30 year wedding anniversary. Apple pie was on the house! Amazing!

    City Post Chophouse never disappoints! We brought out of town friends to dinner. Alex, our server was amazing. Her personal attention and help, even when a couple of items needed to be adjusted, was beyond our expectations. The dinner was perfect, served promptly and we all loved our dishes. The lamb chops were prepared perfectly, the sea bass was delicately cooked, and the beef and pork were even better than our guests expected. Chef Adrian came out to greet us personally, adding one more level of service. We will continue to come to City Post Chophouse for our special dinners. So happy to have this incredible restaurant in Georgetown!

    You have to ask for bread which they find irritating and the bread itself is dry. My chicken was just okay but my husband's steak was very good. My salad was good as was the wine. Apple pie was grocery store level quality but the ice cream with it was good. Overall it was good but not great.

    From the time we arrived until the time we departed, we were treated like royalty and all aspects of the dining experience. The food was exceptionally well, prepared and presented, and one of the best steakhouses we have ever been to. Will be back and I recommend everyone else try you too.
