At City House in Nashville, TN, James Beard Award winning Chef Tandy Wilson makes an amazing array of dishes to pair up with the enormous array of artisan cocktails, wine and bourbon or whiskey choices available. A popular Sunday Supper gives a unique dining experience, but many come for the regular dinner menu.

The dinner choices at City House include starters like frico, sock sausage, and olives. There are handmade pizzas with traditional toppings and more Southern inspired choices like belly ham or kale. We have been to City House twice now for Sunday Supper and both times it was clear why it came so highly recommended. On Sundays an ever changing menu is served and it truly seems like the chef is showcasing his talent for flavor, tradition, taste, and having fun with it. Standouts this time were the biscuit (outstanding), the pizza (wood fired), and the Sunday dessert cake which was strawberry meringue. If you can hit it when they have the waltz cake, DO IT.

Love City House! I just wish they had better acoustics in the large dining room. The room gets really loud; so much so that it makes table conversations very difficult. Desserts: ALWAYS incredible!!

The hostess was very accommodating and kind, helping us find a space not overloud. Pizza was delicious; salads were very good. I'm not accustomed to having everything I order delivered by someone else; it felt less personal than I prefer. I hear that City House is reliably good: with such a short menu, that's a good thing. Wood-fired pizza: that really deserves a WOW!

The restaurant is very expensive from drinks to our meal. Our entire meal was very very salty. We ordered two servings of the octopus and both came in one dish and the amount of sauce and chickpeas overwhelmed the dish. For $25+, the chopped steak should come with a side. Just not too impressed for what we paid.

Amazing food, drinks & service. Had apps, pizza, mains & dessert and we thought it was the best food we’ve had in Nashville despite having eaten at many top places in town. Loved the authentic Italian dishes combined with a touch of southern flair. Friendly and professional service. Incredibly loud, though, so much that it was hard to hear each other at our own table. Surprised no sound improvements have been made to improve it over the years. But we would still most definitely return!

Dining at City House is always a fantastic experience - we look forward to eating there every time we come to Nashville. The menu is diverse and wonderful, the food is s extraordinary, and the wait staff are the friendliest we have ever encountered in any restaurant.

I have not been to this neighborhood, Jim in a year or so, but it is still up to par. I’m glad it is lasted all the new restaurant openings in Nashville because this place belongs in the neighborhood and is treasured. Any pizza you get? Make sure an egg is cracked on top. The craft cocktails are always right and the menu changes in season and is always fantastic.

Started with cocktails/wine and a spinach pizza with egg on top, plus olives. Delicious. Next up was Kale, Octopus and Frico. Perfect. Main course was Gnochi and the nightly special Beef Spare Ribs. The special was the most amazing dish we have had at City House. We finished with the Puff and Carrot Cake, again phenomenal. Overall a really beautiful experience.

I brought some out of town friends on their visit after City House had been recommended by several people. In short: a total disappointment for all three of us. This food is average at best and I honestly wonder where people have eaten to speak so highly of it. In fairness, the pizza that we saw others eating looked great and we left wishing that's what we had ordered. Then again, the place is called City House, not City Pizzeria. The octopus and chick peas was an original and delicious dish, and the other 4 dishes utterly forgettable ... a kale salad that was overdressed and uninspired, flavorless bread gnocchi that were still too dense for the rest of the dish which did not pack the flavor it should have, meh trout and meh mushrooms; none of these dishes lived up to the hope and inspiration of their descriptions on the menu. The vibe was great and the "house" is a great venue. I live around the corner and will enjoy it from the outside in future; I won't be back to eat overpriced meh food.

Highlights were the kale/kohlrabi Caesar salad, pizza with rapini and potato, and the cookie plate. There was confusion on who our server was which resulted in a delay in service but manager and server apologized and made things right. I respect an establishment that owns a mistake and handles with grace.

Excellent food and service! Friendly staff: starting with call setting up bday celebration to front door help with our luggage to Lucas, our waiter-fun and engaging with our large party of 9. The kale/kohlrabi caesar salad (amazing) and icebox cake ('best cake ever')! City House made the last night of our family trip to Nashville memorable! Thank you!

Everything from seating, to beverage, to service to food to service was world class. City House never disappoints. Our server offered excellent suggestions and provide the perfect mix of interaction, energy, and follow up service. Each item was impeccably made delivered and the quality of flavor snd freshness was tremendous! I brought an old friend who was visiting Nashville, and I had bragged about how amazing it would be, and it exceeded expectations. Thank you for a delightful experience!
