By the time of our Mother’s Day buffet brunch reservation there were no crab legs left. This was a main draw for us going to Citizen Rail. With a price of $85 per person, the restaurant needs to ensure everyone with a reservation gets all buffet items offered or a partial refund should have been offered.

Love sitting at the chef’s counter here. Lots of new charred items on the menu, which I loved. Had the charred little gem and the cauliflower entree, both of which were great. But the blueberry dessert stole my gear, not gonna lie. The lighting could be more intimate, but food, service and cocktails will continue bringing me back.

This was our first time dining at Citizen Rail. We love trying new restaurants and appreciate gourmet dining experiences. Citizen Rail did not disappoint. We started with the Charred Little Gem salad, which was excellent. My husband had the Grilled Octopus starter as his main and I had the Wild Seabass. (Octopus was great; Seabass good but not my favorite.) Our dessert was the highlight of the meal but it's not listed on the current online menu. It had blueberry and lemon and they kept it on the new in-house menu because it is such a staff favorite. So be sure to ask about it! The service was top notch and great ambiance at the restaurant. We will definitely be back.

Very impressed …. Our first night in Denver and so glad we chose to have dinner at Citizens Rail as we were staying at the Limelight. The salad, main course & desert were outstanding. Great quality & service. I think we will do a repeat tonight as everything was perfect !!

Disappointing experience after dining here with rave reviews the other times. Forgotten drinks, slow service, undercooked raw potatoes and practically raw chicken. ‘Come back for a birthday dessert next time’ - no thanks. Are you just going to remember us to give us that? Very inconsistent, do better. Not worth the money.

Great food. Went for our anniversary and I loved it. Great atmosphere and our server was fantastic. Steak was delish and that beer salad was something everyone should try. Wow.

My family went to Citizen Rail for Easter brunch.it was amazing! The food was superb. The staff were wonderful! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Usually love this place. Went for restaurant week and was bad experience. Everything had been under heat lamps. Even the aged rib eye steak. Terrible corner table with zero ambiance.

Went for restaurant week because they had a 100 day dry aged steak on the published menu, but when we arrived they said they had run out a few days ago. The steak was the reason we booked there and weren’t really interested in anything else on the menu (we asked if there were other dry aged steaks available to order outside of that and they said no). So we shared a burger from the bar menu and charcuterie. We ordered it cooked Med Well and it was literally still raw in the very center, and because we split it, they had cut it in half for us and still served it that way. Sent it back and the manager had another one made and removed it from the bill. Overall we were very underwhelmed and with the variety of restaurants to choose from, we probably wouldn’t go back. Service was great though!

We went for restaurant week and it was good, but wasn’t mind blowing good or anything. Pretty basic dishes. Steak was a tad overcooked and unsure if it was actually 100 day dry aged steak…but overall a good meal and price for restaurant week!

Certain things were great, others were average. Expensive for what the cost would be normally outside of restaurant week. Our server, G, though was awesome. He’s 5 stars all day!

We ate our first dinner here midweek during Restaurant Week. We had grill-view seating (our request), with a great view of the cooking action. They had a new wood-fire grill which went live less than two weeks earlier (after a fire last summer). We saw the staff working like a well-oiled machine. The three course Restaurant Week menu was great and our waitress was so friendly and attentive. We’ll go back.

We went for denver restaurant week. The kitchen and bar were incredibly backed up. We waited 20-30 minutes in between each course. The food was average, my husbands steak was extremely over cooked (which they fortunately corrected and removed from the bill) and the cheeseburger I ordered to be cooked medium well was nearly rare. Overall vibes were off. We won’t be back unfortunately.

Really excited about this meal for restaurant week as the items on the menu were super creative and very vegetarian and gluten-free friendly. They went out of their way to check all the dishes for my allergies to make sure I would eat some thing that was safe for me. Good wine list that goes outside the usual stuff everyone else has on their menus. Ambience was really great and if I didn’t have to drive downtown and park, I would come here likely pretty frequently. my only reason for four stars on the food was that someone got really heavy-handed with the salt that particular night hopefully that’s not their standard but we’ve never been there before so I can’t say. We’re pretty salt-tolerant people, but the octopus and the ribeye were just way over seasoned. I ended up drinking so much water to compensate for the salty octopus dish that I got too full to eat hardly any of my ribeye. All the vegetarian dishes were quite good. Overall, I would say a pretty wonderful experience and worth the price for a nice night out.

My husband and I have loved Citizen Rail for years - we started coming in 2018. However, our experience during Restaurant Week will probably be the last. I ordered the sea bass and it was served to me mostly raw. The dish was replaced but the restaurant did not comp any of our items and no manager came out to apologize. I really don't find that acceptable. Sea bass is not safe to eat raw and I had several bites before pulling back the charred skin to realize it was not cooked.

I always enjoy it there. I sat at the chef’s counter and had a great conversation with Ryan who’s a great chef. It was Restaurant Week so I had the 4 course dinner. Blistered cucumbers with ricotta was an interesting way to start. It was a very unusual and creative dish. Then I had the octopus, the 100 day dry aged Ribeye and I had the chocolate hazelnut cake for dessert. It was so beautifully presented and delicious. While I miss the wood-burning grills, the coal ovens are a nice change and given the situation it’s totally understandable. I’m looking forward to going back.

Very solid place to grab a bite to eat! The service is outstanding and they do a great job making sure Amex benefits are maximized for those staying at the Limelight Hotel. Mt only critique is that the beef options were consistently a little lacking in flavor for the meat itself (steak and burgers were both big and meaty but lacking flavor). The other items were fantastic though!

I brought my friend there because I raved about your dry aged beef. Only to find out none to be offered on the menu. So very disappointing. It won’t stop me from coming back just won’t be as often

Delicious food, great service! Went for our belated v-day date. We had the crispy pork belly to start, then I ordered the sea bass and my husband had the steak frites. Everything was cooked perfectly. Thanks for a lovely evening.
